The Choir of Man @ The Fantail at Gluttony, Adelaide 17/2/2023

Free beer!

Hopefully that got your attention. And no, that isn’t just click bait. This show in fact offers, free beer.

Energetic vibrancy filled the air as I walked into the venue. After a long week at work, it was just the boost I needed to lift my spirits and put a smile on my face.

I was encouraged up on stage prior to the show and walk up to a working bar and grab a pint of South Australian gold – Coopers Pale Ale. As if this show can get any better, I thought!

The Choir of Man features nine mates in a pub, allowing each performer to showcase through song and dance with energetic vibrancy through to heart-break melancholy .

From Guns n Roses to Peter Allen; Sia to The Proclaimers – each song boasts rich harmonies with the performers clear enjoyment on stage rippling through the audience joining in to sing-a-long, clap hands and smiling wide. The diversity of vocal tones and ranges did not fail to impress together with tight choreography.

The Choir of Man held in the open-air venue of the Fantail at Gluttony offers a feel-good experience where you leave feeling like you’ve made nine new best mates over a beer.

It is a show providing a sage reminder of what pubs are all about – community, friendship and a place to be yourself.

So grab yourself a pint and meet your new best mates. I would happily attend for another round!

I give this show a solid 4.5 stars. Cheers!
