PSS PSS @ Ukiyo at Gluttony, Adelaide 20/2/2019

If you would like to see a fun show with skilful performers go and see this show. This is a timeless performance with no words spoken except for the odd “pss pss” every now and again.  It reminded me of the antics of a Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton movie. At the start, Swiss/Italian couple Simone and Camilla wander on stage to some eerie music and a really funny juggling bit but then the show transforms at various times to a full-on acrobatic performance. They were both playing it for laughs but you could see the effort they were giving in their performance by the sweat dripping from Simone’s head.

It is amazing how entertaining a show can be with just two people and minimal props.  There were many gasps of astonishment from the crowd during their more adventurous sequences and when they performed the final section with a metal ring far above the ground without a net I am sure most of the crowd had their hearts in their mouth.

Simone and Camilla have been together performing since 2005 in various shows and started this show in 2010 and it has been performed over 700 times in over 50 countries and on 5 continents to huge acclaim. This is their first time in Adelaide and I would highly recommend this performance.  They have another show together called “Oh Oh” and I would love them to bring that here next year.
