Pét-Nat + Han ah Chocolat @ The Chapel at Migration Museum, Adelaide 28/02/2023
The best part about seeing a Fringe show is when you have no idea what you’re in for and that’s exactly what happened with Pét-Nat + Han ah Chocolat. Nat Harris and Hannah Camilleri have created a variety of original characters, ranging from middle school teachers, isolated goblins, corporate women, women of English period dramas, to a couple of blokes that think they know about food, wine and running events. It makes for a Sketch Comedy full of colourful quirky characters and hilarious melodramatic skits.
Each skit had some audience participation either playing the part of students, employees or guests. The spontaneous banter by the artists to the audience provided some off the top comedy gold. You gotta think quick off your feet with these two and it was non-stop laughter in the intimate Chapel room at the new Fringe precinct, Migration Museum.
Harris and Camilleri are slick and playful in bringing to life the eccentricities of everyday people. The voices, the facial expressions, right down to the clothes of each character were all portrayed with dead set accuracy. They make a common everyday person infectiously entertaining. Whether it’s an assertive commanding teacher, a giggly young English girl, unwavering corporate women opening a new building site or a couple of blokey blokes trying to address their employees, it was a delight to watch. It will leave you with a permanent smile on your face!
Pét-Nat + Han ah Chocolat was riotous, brilliant and Sketch Comedy at its funniest! It’s no wonder they had sell-out seasons at Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2021 and 2022.
