Rainee talked to Hi Fi Way about what audiences can expect from this year’s show and what else she’s been up to since she last visited.
You’re coming back to Adelaide Fringe with Rainee Blake in Concert but for three shows only. Are you excited to be back performing in Adelaide?
I’m so excited! I absolutely loved performing at last years Fringe and I’m excited to be in the Gluttony family this time around.
What do you love most about the Adelaide Fringe?
Artists supporting artists. The community of performers and crew all coming together really makes my heart sing.
Gluttony is one of the busiest Fringe precincts. What’s the best part of performing at Gluttony.
We’ll see! It’ll be my first time performing there this year.
What can audiences expect from your show this year?
Lots of soulful and intimate original tunes. Songs from Nashville, some covers and a couple of brand new songs from the soundtrack to a film called I Am DB Cooper that just came out. I had the pleasure of co-composing the soundtrack and the music is all 70s, country inspired magic.
What have you been up to since Nashville finished up?
Lots of music making, acting projects and my current passion project is my residency at Gold Diggers in Los Angeles. I host a really special songwriters night highlighting some of the best emerging artists in LA.
I read that you have performed at The Grand Ole Opry. I was lucky enough to visit it pre-covid times and it’s really is grand. What’s it like to perform there?
It was incredible!! Such an honor to stand on that stage with so much history. Total adrenaline rush. And I even got down on my knees at one point!
What are your plans for 2023?
Another tour in Europe in October, lots of gigs, dancing and connecting with the people I love.
What are three words to describe your show?
Soulful, intimate, joyful!
