Light Cycles, Illuminate Adelaide @ Botanic Gardens, Adelaide Up To 31/7/2022

Light Cycles is an “after-dark immersive experience connecting guests to the natural world like never before.” Brought to you by Montreal based company Moment Factory the interactive multimedia light spectacular was a smash hit last year and back by popular demand as part of this year’s Illuminate Adelaide program.
Before Light Cycles I can’t recall ever wondering through the Adelaide Botanical Garden. I know! Please don’t judge this Adelaide born and bred gal! So, for my first time what could be more amazing than wondering through the night time wonders of the botanical grounds immersed in an experience with dynamic soundscapes, light projections and video.
Starting through a short tunnel of misty fog flashing in colours of yellow, orange and red you instantly feel you’re in a sci-fi wonderland. It’s easy to want to stay and linger around each stage. There’s Into the Sunset, a path of flashing laser lights along the Moreton Bay Figs where at the end is a stunning red or orange sunset where it’s the perfect spot for that selfie or portrait photo!
Walk amongst the Crystal Grove lights which is seems like you’re in a field of lighted cotton buds. Then stroll down to Reflection Lake which I could’ve watched over and over again with its piercing spectacular light show on the water. Finishing off at Palm House with the glasshouse laser extravaganza lighting up the Adelaide night sky.
Allow approximately 60-90mins depending how long you want to stay and watch each cycle run. If you’re like me you’ll want to see it all and, in some cases, see the cycle run twice! It’s immersive, interactive and a light show that brings the Botanical Gardens to life after dark! Make sure you book early as it sells out fast!
