Hands Like Houses Are Looking For Local Aussie Artists To Open Each Show On Their Upcoming Lótus Tour This April

Canberra rock heavyweights Hands Like Houses are giving back to the Australian live music scene, announcing a national search for local bands to open each show on their upcoming Lótus Tour this April. Aussies artists are encouraged to apply via social media or this form for a chance to join the bill.

The tour will see Hands Like Houses and post-hardcore icons Dream On Dreamer hit the road for a run of shows across the country. Kicking off in Canberra at The Baso on Thursday 16 April, the tour will then roll through Manning Bar in Sydney, Princess Theatre in Brisbane, Kings Beach Tavern on the Sunshine Coast, Beer Deluxe in Albury, 170 Russell in Melbourne, UniBar in Adelaide, and will conclude at Magnet House in Perth on Sunday 26 April.

Fresh from a massive year that delivered a #2 ARIA album, a #4 ARIA deluxe release, and national tours alongside The Used and The Butterfly Effect, Hands Like Houses are using the Lótus Tour to create genuine opportunities for the next generation of Australian artists. Armed with their new single Love & Affection and a new live set spanning fan favourites, the tour offers a rare chance to see two of Australia’s most respected heavy rock acts on one bill – while opening the stage to emerging local talent. “There are a lot of stacked international tours rolling through right now (which is awesome), but real opportunities for local Aussie bands to play bigger rooms are still super limited,” says the band.

“So we want to do this properly. We started our career opening for touring shows through Canberra, and we understand the confidence and momentum it can help build for any artist. We’ll check every submission, stats don’t matter, music does. Every selected support band will be PAID. Always. Much love, support local, support Aussie music.”

The national band search highlights Hands Like Houses’ long-standing commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening Australia’s alternative music ecosystem. Now more than fifteen years into their career, Hands Like Houses continue to inject a fresh dose of modern stadium rock into Australia’s thriving alternative scene. With ARIA success, critical acclaim, a triple j Feature Album, sold-out tours, more than 280 million Spotify streams and a devoted global fanbase, the band have cemented their place as one of Australia’s most enduring and influential alternative acts.
