jamesjamesjames is the music industry’s most spoilt brat. He makes techno for the goths under the bridge, only flies first class business, is the modern day thunderdome enthusiast and Ministry of Sound alumni. He combines his love of pop and techno from the 90s to now to create turbo bass dance floor hits. He’s basically the world’s most famous Avicii impersonator. He produces music for anyone who gets called slurs. Shut up, listen to him play, and pop a Molly it’s 2007. jamesjamesjames shares a few words ahead of Spin Off tomorrow.

Tell us about your latest remix for Willaris. K’s World Collapsing and the inspiration behind it?
idk he played the demo in our van on the way to btv and I was in the back like “waaaiiit I licherally haven’t heard this Calvin Harris song before” and he was like “It’s mine lol” and I was like “neeeeeed to remix this like ASAP”… so I did…

Growing up, you played piano and percussion in a jazz band and symphonic orchestra. Can you tell us how you transitioned into creating electronic anthems?

How do you think your genre of music has changed since you started out?
I’ll never be as happy as when i was 14…
the songs you listened to when you were 14 define your life…
and that ill never be as happy as I was then.
that music, was like listening to REAL MUSIC for the first time for me.
something so different, so beautiful, so perfect, because I had never heard likee – that type of music before and it was what made me fall in love with dance music
soo that’s what I wanna make and like I don’t give a fuck what anyone else is doing.

How do you approach curating your set list? Is it a journey with a specific arc, or more focused on high-energy tracks? Do you tailor it differently based on the audience, say festivals vs club shows?
