Kim Churchill Shares Cosy New Single ‘Calm The Sea’
Off the back of his recent release Hobbies, Australia’s favourite folkster Kim Churchill returns with a new winter warmer in the form of Calm The Sea.
Full of catchy riffs and earthy acoustics, Calm The Sea draws you in with its toe-tapping beat. Bringing a smile to anyone who listens with wholesome lines like, “I’ll make you cups of tea” and “you are everything I need” Kim’s sentimentality shines throughout the track.
Kim talks through the intimate meaning behind Calm The Sea, “I wrote this song when I was feeling really grateful for my partner and the nurturing and inspiring world we call home. The world is a wild wild place and it’s an absolute gift to have someone to share the crazy adventure with. It’s about having that wonderful person to ride the waves of life alongside.”
The release is accompanied by a stellar music video, filmed during Kim’s recently wrapped European tour of 27 dates. He is playing 16 dates across Canada before returning to Europe for another whirlwind tour this November, set to headline a stack of shows across the continent.
The new release arrives off the back of Hobbies, the first taste of his forthcoming album which saw praise from the industry and fans alike, with Happy Mag cherishing Kim’s poignant songwriting saying, “The message is reassuring enough to sustain you for the rest of the year.”
