Adelaide Roller Derby Double Header

Derby is back at the Adelaide Showgrounds!

After a spectacular Adelaide Fringe event – Double the Derby – in March and two closed bouts in April and May, Adelaide Roller Derby whip into their next public double header on Saturday, 17 July 2023.

Coming off of three losses in a row, the Road Train Rollers are hoping for a change of luck. Watch them try to roll over the undead Wild Hearses, who have won two of their last three bouts, from 4:30pm.

Then, the undefeated and top-of-the-ladder Mile Die Club try to sink the Good Ship Salty from winning two in a row from 6:30pm.

That’s two awesome bouts of derby for the price of one!

In addition to the blocks, jams, tripods and apex jumps, get dancing to Emo/ Punk sextet Superdose Gangway from Adelaide/ Tarntanya playing live from 4pm and at half-time. As usual, the vibrant Bout Village will have all the best crafts and other wares to choose from. Plus, there will be a selection of hot food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) available to purchase so you’re nourished to cheer on your favourite team.

The fantastic and amusing Lil’ Commie Bastards will ensure everyone is kept up to speed with all the roller derby action as they tickle your funny bone with their commentary throughout the night.

With only two more public bouts for season 2023, be sure to grab your family and friends, get your skates on and head down to the Adelaide Showgrounds this Saturday, 17 July.

Don’t miss the thrills and spills of roller derby in a family-friendly entertainment-filled night.
Doors open at 4pm, first whistle at 4:30pm.
