Adelaide Indie Rockers Sturt Avenue Release New Single ‘Talk’

On February 17th, Adelaide folk rock / alt-country / Australiana collective Sturt Avenue are releasing their latest single Talk.
Following up their recent softer single Best Friend in 2022, the band are shooting for a higher energy and rockier vibe than ever before with this new track. Featuring emotive melodies and a truly arresting chorus, Talk is a brooding powerhouse of a song about getting too drunk and trying to reach out to an ex. Personal experiences with heartbreak and longing are self-evident in the lyrics and delivery of this song, with lovesick angst oozing out of every lyric and a hook that will stay wedged in your brain long after the last note fades. Cap it off with an instrumental featuring growling guitars trading off against soaring accordion and violins, and you’ve got a track that you’ll be sure to keep coming back to.
The foundations of this tune were recorded by Patrick Lockwood at Electric Ant Studios, with overdubs recorded by Bryn Soden in the Sturt Avenue home studio. Bryn provided acoustic guitar and lead vocals to the track, with John Soden on electric and backup vocals, Tarn Soden providing additional backup vocals, Bryce Lehmann on the drums, Isaac Kerr on bass, Dave Thompson on accordion, and Ollie Patterson on violin. The song was mixed and mastered by Melbourne producer Isaac Barter (Didirri, The
Maes, Mick Flannery).
