INSTYNKT Stir Up Ears And Dancefloors With ‘Ride’

Classic rock gets a mighty modern makeover via the punchy new track RIDE from Melbourne youngsters INSTYNKT. An upbeat anthem for positive self-belief set against rock and roll served straight up, RIDE also comes belting in with an accompanying music video, marking the band’s first ever official music video released into the wild. RIDE radiates pub rock swagger with fresh overtones, packed full of stomping beats, passionate riffs and pure pout via lead vocalist Charlie Lane. An uplifting and elementary rock and roll gem, complete with its singalong chorus and euphoric key change closing the track out in style, RIDE brings together INSTYNKT’s various eclectic personal influences.

Hailing from the southeast suburbs of Melbourne, INSTYNKT have already stirred up ears and dancefloors with previous tracks Dance With Me, Angel In Disguise, Dominatrix and Flower granting a portal to past and future nights filled with good tunes, good vibes and some classic rock and roll. Come and take a ride on the INSTYNKT side and go give RIDE a spin, pronto. The answer a few questions about the single.

How has the build-up been leading up to the release of the single Ride?
Hasn’t been too bad. I think more people are starting to get on board with what we’re doing and what we’re all about now so there was a good load of support on this one.

Was the process of making your single as challenging as you thought?
It’s never challenging for us. We just write a great song, go into the great studio we record in and record it, listen to how great it is, go “that’s fucking great”, and then release its greatness to the public.

Sonically, how would you describe your music?
A punch in the face, but a clean punch in the face. It’s smooth and sharp.

Who would you consider to be the biggest influence on your music and why?
We all have our individual influences, so I think when they all come together as one, our biggest influence is ourselves.

Best piece of advice you have been given?
Don’t change for anyone, dress however you want, be whoever you are, and play whatever music you want. Anyone who doesn’t get it doesn’t matter.

How did the band get together?
The twins and Mac were in a high school band called Black Temple, I came across them on Instagram, thought they were good, took it upon myself to message them asking if they needed a new singer. Fortunately they did. Organised an audition. Boom. The rest is history.

Are you looking to tour more broadly?
We’re looking to tour full stop. We’ve never done one before but we’re looking to start touring sometime next year hopefully.

What’s next for you guys?
Keep playing rock n roll, keep opening our mouths, and keeping the INSTYNKT name getting into more peoples ears and out their mouths. We’re coming.
