Hindley Street Music Hall Official Opening Announcement

The Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide’s newest state-of-the-art live music venue, will open its doors for the first time on Thursday September 15, celebrating with an incredible line-up that includes DMA’s, West Thebarton, Wafia, and Jess Day, all hosted by South Australia’s kings of radio, Ben and Liam.

The Hindley Street Music Hall (HSMH), located at 149 Hindley St, Adelaide, is South Australia’s newest, 1800-capacity live music venue in the heart of Adelaide’s energetic entertainment precinct.

In development over the last year, the $6 million HSMH, a collaborative project between Secret Sounds, Live Nation, and Five Four Entertainment, has been a large-scale redevelopment of the previous HQ nightclub that has transformed the interior and exterior of the building, both structurally and aesthetically.

With over 135 tonnes of concrete and furnishings removed from the original site, the interior has been completely remodelled to include a split-level venue design that provides exceptional viewing experiences from the whole venue, premium balcony viewing areas, modern and spacious artist green rooms, and freight lifts for seamless artist load-ins.

The establishment of the new HSMH with involvement from Secret Sounds and Live Nation will see continued development in the South Australian music sector as a premier touring destination, with artists
including Vance Joy, US Rapper Freddie Gibbs, legendary punk idols Pennywise, and 90’s pop icons Hanson along with key Australian acts Ziggy Alberts, The Chats, already secured to play at the venue.

Honourable Peter Malinauskas Premier of South Australia said:
“The Hindley Street Music Hall is a great boon for the South Australian music and hospitality sectors. Not only does it deliver a state-of-the-art venue in the heart of the city, but it will provide South Australians with career pathways in both the music and hospitality industries. Further, with the Hindley Street Music Hall now open we hope to see more and more international artists and performers return to perform in South Australia.”
