How has the build-up been leading up to the release of your single Serious?
It’s been so exciting! We’ve ensured we had plenty of exclusive content for pre and post promo for “Serious”. Our followers have been asking to see more daily and we’ve been keeping them in the loop with various videos of bts, getting ready, dance choreo etc. We spent two weeks sharing pre-promo content for “Serious” on all social media platforms and have received an incredible response. Now that the video has been out for a short time, we wanted our friends/followers to engage with us on a whole new level. We’ve created an acapella for others to duet in hopes for more collabs during post promo. Post promo includes serious choreo for others to learn, inside scoop on which designers we’ve sourced our clothes from and much more!
Was the process of making your single as challenging as you thought?
As we’d like to say, it’s more of a milestone. Being in the studio and being able to create hits is such an exhilarating experience. We all work so hard and the end result is amazing. Being in the studio is our second home and where we can escape to. Also being in a group full of talent makes it easier to enjoy the process rather than it being a challenge. This was actually our second song we created in the studio and we had numerous ideas to play with. We knew we wanted to create a feel-good track and that’s exactly what we aimed and accomplished!
Sonically, how would you describe your music?
Our music is very diverse, however, we are mainly described as RnB/Pop. We have implemented various elements of music into our songs such as soul, jazz, alternative, classical etc. It is so important that we create a world with each individual song. Sonically, our music has a mix of upbeat dance and slow ballad vibes. We want each song to have an identity of its own for others to visually and emotionally interpret.
Who would you consider to be the biggest influence on your music and why?
ChloeXHalle has been a huge influence for all of us. The message that they have delivered over the years with their music and the talent they hold has us in awe. Their music is authentic and fresh for today’s listeners and we would love to follow in their footsteps and create music that inspires others to live their dreams regardless. There was a time last year when we had just started off with TikTok and had covered their song Forgive Me. The next morning we had woken up only to find out that they had re-posted our cover on their Instagram page. The fact that we had been noticed by our idols just pushed and motivated us more than ever. From that moment on, we knew we could make a difference and inspire others that had noticed us.
Best piece of advice you have been given?
“Stay true to yourself and your artistry” is the most vital piece of advice to be given. If you’re genuine within yourself and your artistry, you can inspire more people than you think in many different ways. You can teach an individual to be themselves, to remain positive and humble and more. These are only a few good changes that come from having these traits.
How did the band get together?
We’ve all known each other a very long time even before we formed a group as we met several times at different gigs. We all had our solo moments to shine and during this time, we were able to hang out and jam together. We always had such a great time together, we knew that by forming a group, we’d withhold a lot of power and strength to make it work and make a change for the better.
Are you looking to tour more broadly?
100%. This is all we’ve ever wanted and being given the chance to tour globally and light up people’s faces with our music would simply bless our souls. Any opportunity we are given, we take and run with it. We would love to travel in order to meet people and collaborate as much as we can. When making connections, you’re opening up a world of freedom and when you have freedom, you’re able to do wonders such as touring, inspiring others, simple acts of generosity etc. Kicking off our first tour would be a huge milestone and one that we would never forget.
What’s next for H3RIZON?
There is so much we have in store for everyone! We’re so excited planning these next upcoming projects but for now we’re keeping it on the down low. We want surprise after surprise, so no spoilers just yet! Remember to stay tuned on all of our social media platforms.
