Pinkish Blu On Their EP Release

Adelaide’s Pinkish Blu release their new EP people just do good things sometimes today. The EP is a collection of authentic, romantic and nostalgic indie-pop songs that will delight fans of alt-pop artists such as The 1975 and Owl City. Australian media have already embraced tracks from the EP including Start A Band, Backward which was added to Triple j rotation, and emotive new single Old Blue. On their new EP, the all male four piece band are open and vulnerable with their stories and lyricism. Brice Young (Songwriter/ Vocals) answers a quick Q&A about the EP for Hi Fi Way.

How has the build-up been leading up to the release of your new EP people just do good things sometimes?
The build up to the release of “people just do good things has been exciting! It’s been a long time coming for a lot of the songs, and we’re honestly just excited to have fun new songs to play at shows.

Sonically, how would you describe your music?
Sonically, I’d describe our sound as alt pop. Although, to be a bit more specific I like to think that we’re doing bandy guitar pop music but grabbing influences for whatever we’re listening to at the time of writing the song, which can range from rap to indie rock.

Who would you consider to be the biggest influence on your music and why?
I think my biggest influence would have to be every other new artist that I like. I think every artist that I’ve loved from growing up will have unconscious influence but all the new music that comes out everyday from really creative people, is where I draw the face value influence and ideas from.

Best piece of advice you have been given?
Best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is to just enjoy the journey, it doesn’t really matter where you’re going.

How did Pinkish Blu get together?
Pinkish blu got together from just being friends first and loving music and wanting to start a band, that’s about it.

What’s next for Pinkish Blu ?
What’s next for Pinkish Blu will basically be decided after this EP is released. It’s really hard to tell where and when things will come but we’ll be aiming to keep it fresh and frequent that’s for sure.
