The brochure said are you ready for the ultimate Fringe? Yes we are! That’s what we got! Furnapalooza made its way the Entertainment Centre with Furnace And The Fundamentals throwing one massive party to top all parties making for one unforgettable night. Adelaide is a little slow to catch on with sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney but there’s no doubt that would have changed after this big crowd sang and danced the night away.
The energy that these six Sydney-siders have – Furnace, Digby, Marcus, Tom, Solo and Pluto – is incredible. Even watching I seriously don’t know how these guys do it playing a non-stop party set of some of the greatest songs of all time. To play, sing and dance with so much gusto is something to behold, remarkable. Most artists are lucky to remember a dozen or so songs but the number these guys crank out is insane. It is just as well that during the count down timer to show time there was a segment on screen “Fitness with Furnace” suggesting the crowd should warm up to avoid torn muscles.
The show builds from Circle Of Life to the high octane What I Like About You and Footloose. There’s plenty of dance floor anthems from Beyonce, Eminem to Queen to The Darkness to Bruno Mars to The Beatles to Nirvana and plenty more, I lost count after forty songs. Throw in light up suits, inflatables (hilarious), confetti guns and balloons this audio-visual extravaganza is great for all ages looking for a fun night out with back to back hits the entire show. Until next time when we can do it all over again!
