The Underground Lovers are thrilled to share Seven Day Weekend, the latest cut from their upcoming new album A Left Turn. Due for release on October 11, A Left Turn is the tenth longplay from the Underground lovers.
Following the melancholic rock tones of the first single The Passer-by, Seven Day Weekend continues with the Undies’ unique blend of guitar-driven indie-pop, mixed with solid electro based grooves.
Produced and mixed in Sydney with long-time collaborator Wayne Connolly, the song is about workers ennui and “talking to the union man”. Building to a glorious sing-along chorus which celebrates friends, friends of friends and the friends of friend’s friends, Seven Day Weekend is uplifting with a strong dash of Melbourne insouciance and attitude.
Thirty years after recording their first single Round & Round, Underground Lovers are set to release their tenth long-play; A Left Turn this October 11, their first in over two years.
Continuing to surprise and inspire their dedicated and growing fan base with new music, the Undies will embark on a national tour throughout November, featuring special east coast guests and psychedelic groovers, The Lovetones.
A LEFT TURN out October 11, 2019 through Rubber Records.
