Ivy League Records are thrilled to announce that Byron Bay artist Kyle Lionhart will release his highly anticipated debut album Too Young on Friday 20 September! To celebrate the news, Kyle has released the album’s anthemic new single, Holding On – accompanied by the stunning video, directed by Nick Maguire and shot in the height of Japan’s charming cherry blossom season.

The video for second single Holding On came together after Kyle was shown a clip on YouTube made by a dance class in Japan, set to his song Heart out First. Both the sentiment and the incredible choreography led to Kyle connecting with the dancers online and discussing the possibility of a collaboration. Within a month, Kyle was filming in Japan – resulting in his most visually striking video to date.

Soothsayer are elated to confirm the return of ALTA with their powerful and brooding new single Back On It. A song about recognition and taking accountability for your behaviour.

Electronic purveyors of emotional club anthems Julius Dowson and Hannah Lesser express their emotions with authenticity, and Back On It is a soothing reflection of this. The track carries a bold message that acknowledges it’s okay to fall from where you want to be – because being a part of human nature – your feet will always find the ground again.

It’s from these falls that we reflect on our actions and those of others, take note and learn from these times; only we can decide how to progress.

Just in time for the US summer, revolutionary musicians Prophets Of Rage: Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, Chuck D, B-Real and DJ Lord have released the combustible new single Made With Hate produced by Brendan O’Brien.

This new music follows the group’s release of single Heart Afire. Prophets Of Rage are currently working on the follow up to their highly successful self-titled debut album — which debuted at #3 and #4 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart and Top Rock Albums chart respectively – slated for release next year.

On what inspired the track, Chuck D expressed, “AS WITH MANY songs ‘Made With Hate’ was formed out of a conversation amongst ourselves about the level of passion fuel it takes to create. Especially when attacking something of HATE. You must create the energy to hate ‘HATE’. To have PEACE you have to despise Hatred with a passion for Peace and attack it. You can’t have hate take over anything especially history, so you have to fuel yourself to attack in thought word and deed with equal passion.”

Following up their recent signing with Dew Process, releasing of the killer single, Sad Guy, and selling out shows across the country, Perth indie punks Sly Withers today return with a brand-new track, this time featuring a cameo from fellow West Australian rising star – Carla Geneve.

The new single, Lately, which premiered on triple j’s Home & Hosed program followed by an online premiere at Pilerats, sees Sly Withers co-frontman Jono Mata team up on vocals with Geneve to create gorgeous harmonies over the top of crunchy power chords and thundering beats – the two managing to float melodic petals on a bed of searing punk rock. It’s yet another anthemic cut from the four-piece, who are quickly establishing themselves as a new force in the Australian music scene – drawing on plenty of influences while also carving out their own, distinct lane.

Your favourite party starters The Bennies are back with a new single & a new European Tour announcement, just days before kicking off their Punk Rockin’ The Suburbs Australian Tour.

Green Mitsubishis is the second stand-alone single The Bennies have released in 2019, following up latest single Waiting For Dave. The two songs are the first released as a five piece band and the first new music from The Bennies since 2018 album Natural Born Chillers.

Green Mitsubishis is a bit different to your typical Bennies track, but not any less of a party starter than you’d expect. Vocalist Anty calls the song a ballad – “It is a ballad about the disco before the breakdown, claustrophobia in sweaty nightclubs, prioritising time with friends over everything else, it is about the heights of ecstasy, it is about finding family in friendship, but most importantly it is a song that attempts to recreate the overly serotonin fuelled moments where the world feels like it is yours and you are capable of anything and everything, despite all your insecurities and barriers. You got me loving life.”

There’s really bad weather at the outdoor shoot location.. Sigrid’s flight has an emergency landing… She will not make it to the music video shoot… the camera man crashes his drone into a lake… So the director thinks to himself.. ‘what is there to do?’

The only logical thing to obviously do is to go ahead and shoot the video and stand in for Sigrid himself.. 😉

Make the best of a bad situation.. worth a watch!

Bianca is a talented Australian Artist from Sydney. Bianca started singing at nine years of age and started writing songs at twelve. She’s a singer, songwriter, top line wizard and has a huge following via her social media networks. Currently sitting on 224K youtube subscribers, she’s also acquired quite the following with her various recorded covers. Some receiving over 2 million+ views. Bianca recently co-wrote & sung on the hit single Focus with Aussie DJ/Producer duo Bonka. The track reached #1 on the ARIA Club Chart and received a lot of airplay across Australian Radio stations & across Spotify.

Bianca on her debut single: “I wrote this track as an intro for my EP ‘Make Believe.’ I’d been watching ‘13 Reasons Why’ at the time and it brought back so many memories from school of how weird/lonely/nasty it can sometimes be. In my experience school was a little strange, I didn’t feel like I could relate to too many people and I wasn’t happy within myself. When I was at home I’d daydream about who I could be when I got older and what I’d be doing and I used music as my escape from it all.”

Stormzy has released his second single of 2019, Crown, ahead of his headlining slot on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, where he tops the bill alongside The Killers and The Cure.

The track was produced by MJ Cole and Jimmy Napes, who also co-wrote it with Stormzy, and includes vocals from seven-piece UK choir LJ Singers. It’s accompanied by a live visual directed by Charlie Sarsfield, performed in the iconic London studio ‘The Church Studios’.

Sum 41 have dropped an emotionally charged ballad today with the release of Never There. Dedicated to single parents everywhere, the song is a personal letter from lead singer Deryck Whibley.

Never There is one of the band’s heaviest songs to date, but in an entirely different way. This marks the third single from upcoming album Order In Decline, out July 19th.

“I never wanted to write this song, it just kind of poured out of me,” said Whibley. “I tried to fight it at first but there was no stopping it. I could tell I was writing about my dad, who I’ve never met and throughout my life it has always been a subject that I don’t really think about or care about. It has never really bothered me and when I started thinking about why it never bothered me, I realized it was because my mum was so great and I have such a loving relationship with her. She was so strong as a single mother for my whole life that I never needed to think about my dad.”

Arriving in a haze of effects, The Laurels release new single Sound System, from their upcoming third full length album alongside launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne this July.

Driven by a syrupy bass line, Sound System is another slice of melodic grunge communicating the extinction of nightlife in our dystopian cities while yearning to reignite the street party. The single is the first release since welcoming bassist and celestial vocalist Kat Harley (Mezko) into the band.

Vocalist Luke O’Farrell explains the space in which Sound System lives “High rise apartments and rent prices loom large over this paean to a future dystopian city, the inhabitants of which are doomed to a lifetime of evenings spent in queues waiting to eat at fine dining restaurants after a round of putt putt golf.” He continues “Sound System finds this group of part-time disc jockeys loading up their van with generators and loud speakers as they seek to reignite the street party.”

Australian-born, LA-based songwriter, producer, vocalist and multi-media artist George Maple is more than a pop star with a vision; she is a force. With her new single Magic Woman, George Maple draws inspiration from the end of a relationship and rises triumphantly into an empowered new woman, a detailed manifesto of which has been released on her website GeorgeMaple.com. Magic Woman is the next taste of new music from George Maple and her first release with Australian indie label etcetc, home to PNAU, Fisher, CLYPSO and more. This week also sees the launch of George Maple’s brand new live show, Utopia, to be unveiled at the Falcona 10th birthday party in Melbourne this Saturday night.

George Maple reveals how Magic Woman was born: “At an immediate and visceral level, this song was born from the co-dependency of love, sadness and rage. A few years ago now, towards the end of a dying relationship, the person I loved expressed his disappointment with “the person I had become” and the anger and negativity I was expressing on a daily basis. The anger, the fire, the passion, the drive…I was suppressing rather than embracing as it did not fit with who I was expected to be and the role I was expected to play. When I look back I was deepening, finding my voice, making mistakes, failing and getting back up again, struggling and slowly touching on the truth I had been hiding from. This single conversation was the birth of Magic Woman.”

Continuing to demonstrate his ability to connect and tap into a wider audience with universal experiences including friendships, family, aspirations, expectations, hope and disappointment, ALUIS creates pop music with depth that resonates globally. “It’s about the experience of life,” ALIUS says. “It’s not just about the whole love thing, or hate, or partying. It’s about the complications of life, its contrasts and what it’s all about. It’s an expression of the stories that I’ve gone through and I feel as though other people have gone through as well”.

Melbourne duo Kult Kyss unveil their latest captivating single Rituals. Co-produced alongside Kim Moyes (The Presets, DMAs) and mixed by Anthony Garvin (Jagwar Ma, Last Dinosaurs), Rituals radiates Kult Kyss’ signature sound that has made them ones-to-watch in the Australian music scene. Melding Haxx’s glistening production and pulsing beats with Rromarin’s unique vocal sound; Kult Kyss merge future pop with ritual noise, drawing listeners in to a rich and dynamic sonic realm.

Kult Kyss explain how Rituals came together: “In creating Rituals we wanted to explore the concept of the divine in every day moments and experiences; in particular the timeless act of humans coming together to dance. The song is designed to convey the power of these modern-day rituals, blending organic synths, chanting vocals and syncopated drums. KIM and Anthony Garvin were huge assets to the track, bringing their own touch of magic to Rituals and helping crystallise our vision for the song.”

Neck Deep surprised fans today with the release of a brand new single and music video. She’s A God is an effervescent and charming song that basks in the warm glow of knowing you don’t need to travel to find peace and strength – rather, it’s simply in the person beside you. The dynamic and layered new sound further cements the band’s place in the forefront of today’s Alternative Rock scene.

“‘She’s A God’ is a song that is, pretty much, about worshipping your other half, but for the little things like waking up in the morning and seeing them get ready for the day. Those moments where you’re just in awe of how glorious a person can be. It’s pretty simple, no deeper meaning here, just a love song comparing a relationship to theology.” shares frontman Ben Barlow on the honest and captivating track.
