This is Matt Tarrant’s 7th Adelaide Fringe in a row and he has won many awards for his shows. Matt is from Glenelg and has appeared in the TV show Australian Survivor a couple of years ago. Adelaide should be proud of Matt who has been able to embrace the Fringe and be so popular for so many years. His show Honestly Dishonest from last year became the #1 selling solo act of the Adelaide Fringe.
I saw Matt’s show last year and just like this show, it is full of “how did he do it” moments. Matt engages with the audience well and started the show off with a trick that combined music and his excellent manipulation of a deck of cards
Matt had help early on with Bruce a mind reader from the US which was a lot of fun. From that moment on the serious tricks started and we were all then left wondering exactly how they were done.
There are only so many magic tricks in the world and I had seen one of the tricks Matt performed on Ellen a few years ago by another magician but the twist where Matt combined his 3 main tricks at the end of the show was incredible. I still have no idea how he did it. I thoroughly recommend this show for young and old alike.
