Can confirm – the legendary Queens of the Stone Age are set to play four epic headline shows across Australia and New Zealand this July, including, for the first time ever… a show in Darwin.
Last week, it was announced that the rock icons will headline Splendour In The Grass in Byron Bay – which sold out in a heartbeat yesterday. But no Splendour, no worries because these meticulously mad sideshows in Auckland, Darwin, Sydney and Melbourne are going to be mega loud and mega intimate.
This will be the first time Queens of the Stone Age have returned to Australia since their sellout co-headline tour with Nine Inch Nails in 2014. In the time since, prolific front man Josh Homme has been writing and touring with punk icon Iggy Pop on the singer’s 2016 album Post Pop Depression.
There are also rumours of a new album in the works, to follow up their 2013 hard rock escapade …Like Clockwork. The critically acclaimed album, which featured none other than Trent Reznor and Elton John as collaborators, translated into a blistering live experience full of raw power and punch and left fans eagerly anticipating the next tour. Now, the wait is nearly over.
General public goes on sale Wednesday, 12 April 10am AEST/12pm noon NZST.
