Troy Cassar-Daley National Tour

The Roll of Renown is one of the most prestigious awards in Australian Country Music and just last week Troy Cassar-Daley was inducted by none other than Slim Dusty’s wife Joy McKean at the 2017 Country Music Awards Of Australia in Tamworth.

In addition to his induction into the Roll of Renown, Troy’s most recent album Things I Carry Around was also announced as Album of the Year at the awards which saw him take home the coveted Golden Guitar Award for the second year running. This brings Troy’s career tally to a phenomenal 35 Golden Guitars.

On his induction, Troy explained:

“Being inducted into the Roll of Renown is one of the proudest moments of my career. I stood by that rock as an 11 year old kid reading all about the careers of my heroes on the plaques that are proudly embedded into that granite boulder and now at 47, my name is there too. It overwhelms and at the same time fills me with pride to be there with the likes of Slim Dusty, his wife Joy McKean, Jimmy Little and Brian Young”

Having shared his stories for the first time in written word with the release of his book Things I Carry Around, Troy released his tenth solo album of the same name late last year. The album encapsulates Troy as a singer/songwriter in a more relaxed and organic musical environment. The album also captures a number of Troy’s personal stories….about his own family, and love and loss, all woven into song.

Troy was ecstatic with the award, adding:

“Winning the Golden Guitar for Album of the Year was just as big a surprise and reminds me that people do love raw emotion-filled albums as much as I do. I’m so proud of it, and can’t wait to play some new music on the road this year. I will take this Golden Guitar out on the road with me to remind myself everyday how important our industry is to me and to our many friends who support us through thick and thin.”

The Things I Carry Around National Tour officially kicked off at Tamworth Country Music Festival and Troy will traverse the length and breadth of the country with the full run of dates below.

Troy adds:

“This tour will be an interesting journey of both storytelling and music. The setting will be like a lounge room so hopefully you will feel like you are at my house! I’ve always wanted to do an intimate show like this so when you knock on the door at these shows, I will be the one who answers it and I can’t wait to welcome you in!
