Day Wave New Album Release

Day Wave, the critically acclaimed dream pop project of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jackson Phillips, shares a new single entitled Something Here today. The song premiered as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1, Apple Music’s global radio station.

In addition, the California musician reveals details for his forthcoming full-length debut album, The Days We Had [I OH YOU / Liberator Music], arriving May 5, 2017. The pre-order goes live this Friday February 3, granting instant downloads of Something Here and the recently released Wasting Time.

A mosaic of iridescent synths, energetic guitars, and steadfast percussion, Something Here ushers in yet another evolution for Day Wave. SiriusXMU premiered Wasting Time in November 2016, which has amassed over 1.1 million streams to date. The album truly showcases the dynamic solo efforts of Phillips, who played all instruments and produced every track on the record.

In 2014, Jackson Philips skipped the city of Angels and trekked north to the Bay Area after leaving Berklee School of Music. This is where he would create the Day Wave project. He has since received praise from The Los Angeles Times, Noisey, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, The FADER, and many more in addition to early support from KCRW, Beats 1, Sirius Alt Nation, and XMU. His breakthrough single Gone racked up over 6 million Spotify streams with Drag following closely at over 5 million. With self-released singles and EPs under his belt, The Days We Had is his highly anticipated full length.
