Cultural Trailblazer And Pop Provocateur Peaches Announces Australia And New Zealand Tour
Canadian-born Berlin-based artist Peaches is heading down under in January 2027 to perform in Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, presented by Untitled Group and Proxy.
Marking her first visit since 2023, the multifaceted musician, producer, director and performance artist is celebrating her latest album No Lube So Rude. Fans can expect new music along with Peaches’ iconic tracks like F*ck the Pain Away and Boys Wanna Be Her
Dubbed by NME as her “slickest work yet”, Peaches’ first album in over 10 years is a testament to her enduring commitment to radical self-expression. Peaches says of No Lube So Rude,“I want people to understand that they can still have a voice no matter who they are or what the world says about them. Now more than ever, there are so many forces that just want you to give up and be quiet. If this album can help you resist that, then that’s what it’s for.”
Shortlisted for the 2026 Polaris Music Prize, No Lube So Rude is a brash, unapologetic blend of electronic, dance, punk, industrial and pop that takes on identity, sexuality, age and bodily autonomy. Peaches has released a remix of every track on the album, most recently Pixel Grip’s take on You’re Alright featuring Joe Talbot of IDLES, A-listed at BBC 6 Music, and on 30 September she put out the first official rework of Fuck the Pain Away, made with Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival.
The tour has hit UK, Europe and North America with Latin America next, with critics calling the show “powerfully freeing” (LA Times) and “a masterclass in gleeful subversion” (The Guardian). The show is raw and emotional with Exclaim! noting a more tender moment from Peaches’ recent Edmonton show: “After a relentless rotating cast of hyper-vivid outfits, Peaches took a poignant, much quieter moment to don an oversized jacket that belonged to her sister, who passed away in 2020,” a moving reminder of the grief that sits beneath the provocateur’s larger-than-life persona.
Peaches first burst onto the global music scene with her trailblazing 2000 debut The Teaches of Peaches, introducing herself as an unapologetic, provocative and boundary-pushing force to be reckoned with. Over the course of her career, Peaches has released six albums, won the prestigious Polaris Heritage Prize, collaborated with the likes of Iggy Pop and Yoko Ono, and landed songs in cultural touchstones including Lost in Translation and The Handmaid’s Tale. With her work studied at universities around the world, Peaches’ cultural impact extends far beyond music. Dipping her toes into the world of film, theater, opera and contemporary art, Peaches has redefined the possibilities of queer and feminist expression in popular culture.
Peaches has spent over two decades championing sexual liberation, bodily autonomy, queer visibility and breaking down gender roles, making some badass head-bangers along the way. Fusing punk and electro with her punchy lyrics, Peaches’ music serves as a middle finger to patriarchy and repression.
