PAUL DEMPSEY December Encore Shows Announced
After his wildly successful Shotgun Karaoke tour across Australia’s capital cities and regional towns, Something For Kate frontman Paul Dempsey’s karaoke party returns in December for four exclusive encore shows to close the year out with one last mass singalong.
Dempsey’s Christmas Karaoke Tour will take in Sydney (City Recital Hall, December 4), Adelaide (The Gov, December 11), Brisbane (The Tivoli, December 12) and Melbourne (The Forum, December 19).
A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the following organisations in each city who provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness – Sydney: Wayside Chapel, Melbourne: Sacred Heart Mission, Adelaide: Catherine House and Brisbane: Emmanuel City Mission.

Talking about what has become a fitting finale for the karaoke shows played to some of the biggest audiences of his career, Dempsey said, “I’ve been having such a blast doing these Shotgun Karaoke shows, the atmosphere at every show has just been pure joy with everyone singing along and getting right into it. I’m looking forward to some festive good times with this last handful of shows and then getting back to my own writing and a new Something for Kate album in the works.”
The 2025 release of Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II (EMI) album saw Dempsey revel in the joyous sing-along, stripped-back covers show that brought the party vibes to stages with songs spanning generations and genres. After a huge, sold-out metropolitan tour late last year, taking in the Sydney Opera House, the Palais Theatre, QPAC and more, Dempsey recently toured across the regions constantly adding new tracks to the setlist most nights to standout reviews like this from The Music – “Shotgun Karaoke is the best low-stakes gig you’ll see this year. And that’s most of its charm. It’s someone with nothing left to prove in this industry, having a f**king great time…No one in this country does this better than him.”
On the Christmas Karaoke Tour you can expect a whole load of fresh additions to the ever-evolving set list and maybe even a Christmas surprise or two.
Joining Paul on the tour will be very special guest Jess Hitchcock. This singer-songwriter blends pop, country, folk and opera into her own distinctive style, then combines it with her powerful voice and evocative storytelling. Jess’s family connections throughout the Torres Strait, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific influence both her passion and advocacy work.
