Warner Music Australia and In Bloom are thrilled to announce the signing of 15-year-old Australian rock wunderkind, Maple’s Pet Dinosaur. On signing with Warner Music Australia and In Bloom, Maple shares: “Signing a global deal ahead of my debut EP Child’s Play is a dream come true. Dan and the team at Warner Music in Australia have confidently empowered my creative vision and process at home, while Johnny’s A&R chops and personal support, coupled with his team at In Bloom’s global footprint, puts me in a great position to spread the project internationally. I’m genuinely grateful for this level of belief from one of the best labels in the world and I can’t wait to see what we will be able to do together – this will be fun!”

Dan Rosen, President of Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia, says: “I’m thrilled to welcome Maple to Warner Music Australia in partnership with In Bloom. Since meeting Maple, I have been blown away by her creative vision, global ambition and a deep connection to her fans. We’re excited to bring Maple’s music to the world as she steps into the next chapter of her career.”

Johnny Minardi, President of In Bloom continues: “Maple’s music felt special from the very first listen. Thankfully, she had a handful of new songs that painted a complete picture of her unique creative vision. She’s a true force of nature, with a rare combination of talent, conviction, and relentless drive. We’re thrilled to help bring the world of Maple’s Pet Dinosaur to many, many, more people!”

In exciting news, Maple has also signed with Raw Power Management who represent international artists including, Bring Me The Horizon, The Mars Volta, and Bullet For My Valentine, she has also signed with leading global talent agency CAA.

The new single, Child’s Play, is written from Maple’s perspective as a teenage girl, navigating adult, often male-dominated festival and club environments. “Lyrically, this song takes metaphorical revenge on people who don’t take you seriously because of your age (or anything else)” Maple shares. “I think it’s a concept that can translate to anyone who has ever felt like they are being kept in their box – I hope it inspires them to pick up a machete and cut their way out”.

The track opens with a detuned, discordant riff, stacked over a mountain of drums courtesy of Dan Stivens (Ocean Sleeper). Maple moves from rap-like cadence and clever wordplay into a crescendo of vocal runs she credits to unexpected influences. “I thought it would be fun to fuse Ariana Grande or Xtina-style vocal runs over something really dirty and heavy. I love exploring new ideas inside heavy, alt-metal – or whatever people want to define my genre as.”
