Stand Atlantic Drop New Alt-Pop Gem “EDGE OF VEGAS”
Australian four-piece Stand Atlantic an irresistible alt-pop gem, EDGE OF VEGAS, out now via Virgin Music Group. The new single assumes a stand-out moment within the band’s forthcoming fifth album GODBREATH, out Friday 23 October, and follows the news of an Australian tour this October and November.
EDGE OF VEGAS emerges with one of the biggest, most immediate hooks Stand Atlantic have ever written – their knack for unguarded songwriting and sharp musicianship shapeshift into a memorable melodic track that’ll be stuck in the head for days. Masterfully refined and turning inward, the band explores the space between hustle and breaking point: the race towards chaos while teetering on the edge, ultimately realising that nobody gets through it solo. Unbounded by any self-inflicted pressures to chase a certain sound or feeling, the track emerges from a place of creative freedom. It captures a safe space in time where sidestepping every passing trend sees Stand Atlantic craft something timeless.
Vocalist and songwriter Bonnie Fraser continues, “I went into this album knowing that I was happy and having a great time, so I was just going to lean into that instead of trying to manufacture some wounded feeling. At the same time ‘Edge of Vegas’ is totally unfiltered. It’s as honest as we can be. As soon as we’re genuine in what we’re doing, we don’t have to try too hard to do anything. It is always the best outcome every time.”
On forthcoming album GODBREATH, Stand Atlantic venture into uncharted waters yet have never felt closer to home. Genuine feeling shines across the record – from the uncompromising, stream-of-consciousness songwriting of Bonnie Fraser, to the symbiotic musicianship captured in the live tracking of each recording. Wonderfully fierce and refreshingly free, the collection is littered with timeless and timely bangers, pulling as much from turn-of-the-century pop-rock vibrancy as modern day pop-punk bounce. The band will take their newly minted fifth album on tour across Australia later this year, bringing special guests Knuckle Puck for the ride – stopping at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday 23 October, followed by hometown Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday 24 October, Melbourne’s Forum on Wednesday 28 October, Adelaide’s Hindley St. Music Hall on Thursday 29 October and wrapping up at Fremantle’s Metropolis on Sunday 1 November.
