Cage The Elephant Return With New Single ‘Beaches In Tennessee
Following a huge run supporting global icons Oasis across their North American reunion tour last year, GRAMMY-Award-winning rock outfit Cage The Elephant return with powerful new single, Beaches In Tennessee – entering a bold new era for one of modern rock’s most beloved acts.
Written during one of the darkest periods of frontman Matt Shultz’s life, Beaches In Tennessee was penned while receiving treatment in a mental health facility following a medication-induced psychosis diagnosis. It recalls Matt’s desperation to return home to Tennessee through a warped sense of reality, yet beneath the surreal imagery lies an unmistakable sense of hope and resilience.
The release also marks the band’s first with Big Loud Rock, kicking off an exciting new era following an incredibly challenging few years. Brothers Matt and Brad Shultz are creatively stronger than ever – re-energised and back in the studio alongside acclaimed producers Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Kim Gordon, Sky Ferreira) and SadPony (SZA, Lil Yachty.
With a fresh creative outlook, Beaches In Tennessee is a testament to perseverance, recovery and the healing power of songwriting. It channels that optimism into an energetic, anthemic release that showcases the band’s renewed creative fire.
Few rock bands have remained as consistently vital as Cage The Elephant. Since breaking through with their self-titled debut, the Kentucky outfit have amassed multiple platinum records, earned a GRAMMY Award for Best Rock Album, and become renowned for explosive live performances that have seen them headline arenas and festivals around the world.
Fresh off a packed rocknite performance during CMA Fest, the band is set to play a special show with The Strokes before embarking on a world tour next year. Beaches In Tennessee marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the band, with a new album arriving in early 2027.
