I Prevail, Imminence @ Entertainment Centre Theatre, Adelaide 16/6/2026

The drinks flow as much as the flames tower skyward. The riffs reverberate like an airplane taking off. I Prevail have come armed on the back off a new record, Violent Nature, and an arena worthy set up to burn your eyebrows off.

The Michigan band bring with them Invent Animate and Imminence in a night the letter ‘I’ seems prevalent however it’s about the togetherness of the bands, their music and the crowd that stand outs.

I arrive too late for Invent Animate however do make an appearance for Imminence. The Swedes mixture of metalcore, with orchestration through vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, sounds big. The full-frontal blast of melodic riffs with sweet sounding solos pushed forward by a rhythm section that just sounds angry is electric.

Berg directs a circle pit by the whip of his bow, the band channel some heavy riffage in Heaven Shall Burn, and even new track The Sword That Never Bends has a soundscape of rich metal tapestry, that makes the performance seem like an old drinking buddy has arrived for a night of shenanigans.

However, I Prevail is where we are at tonight. Line up changes mean vocal changes since we last saw them and yes, we will judge on that. To their credit, the band seem to know this and open with the incendiary Bow Down followed by Self Destruction, all PRS guitar guns blazing through a barrage of flames instantly making you forget what we we are judging again.

The stage design has platforms which add to the spectacle as members glide around and the graphics change to at one point looked like the Terminator’s eyes. Something that was fitting with how clinical these guys are as Violent Nature has the crowd chant the immortal line.

Yes, there is a Taylor Swift cover, which is actually quite good, damn it! As well as a crushing Sad But True by Metallica, a drum solo and a comedy routine between Brian and Dylan that ends with a shooey. Boys will be boys.

The wall of death and pit work is nonstop, as heavenly breakdowns arrive in God, the drums stomp in Come And Get It and the crowd land the line of ‘that the storm is coming’ during Hurricane.

More sky high flames, jet fuelled vocals and pit bull ripped riffs flex during closer Gasoline and with that, the band depart only to tease something new online a mere hour after the show finishes. Now that is hot stuff.
