The VANNS & Brad Cox Unite On New Single ‘Gas Craic’
The VANNS unveil the reimagined version of their single Gas Craic now featuring Brad Cox. This updated take on the track brings a fresh layer of storytelling, blending the Australian indie rock band’s signature energy with Brad Cox’s distinct voice. The song was written relatively quickly after their UK tour and captures some of the most memorable moments from that experience, delivering a sense of freedom, reflection, and raw emotionality that resonates with both longtime fans and new listeners alike. The collaboration comes naturally, as Brad Cox had previously covered The VANNS’ track Silhouette, making this feature a seamless extension of their shared musical connection.
“Gas Craic was one of the first songs to come together in the writing process of our third record. It was written relatively quickly after our tour in the UK and the song encapsulates some memorable moments from that tour,” the band shares.
Following their highly successful third studio album All That’s in My Head, which debuted at number 5 on the Australian Charts, The VANNS continue to solidify their position as one of Australia’s most dynamic indie rock acts. The album, which features the single Millionaires, debuted at #3 on the Vinyl and AUS Albums charts and #27 on the main ARIA Albums Chart, highlighting the band’s consistent chart presence. Their previous single Accomplice has now surpassed 1.56 million views on its music video, demonstrating their ability to create standout tracks and visuals that connect with audiences. Their music has been featured across Spotify playlists including New Music Friday AU & NZ, All New Rock, Turn Up Aus, Local Noise, and Apple Music’s New In Rock, as well as Vevo rotations on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Pluto TV, and Samsung TV Plus. Triple J has championed the group with Feature Album spots, first plays, and their cover of Hey Ma reaching #32 on the Hottest 100 Like a Version, while radio and streaming support extends from Australia to international airplay.
Gas Craic also continues The VANNS’ tradition of compelling live performances, with the band having played sold-out shows across Australia and the US, including SXSW Austin, and supported The Kooks, The Wombats, and Inhaler, while headlining festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Yours & Owls, and The Great Escape UK. Their national tour for All That’s in My Head spanned 21 shows from October 2025 to January 2026, further cementing their reputation as a captivating live act.
With this updated version featuring Brad Cox, Gas Craic combines the energy and nostalgia of their UK experiences with the depth and polish of their established sound. The collaboration elevates their indie rock storytelling, delivering a track that feels both personal and universal. The VANNS’ evolution is clear, balancing chart success, viral visuals, and festival acclaim, while continuing to create music that resonates across generations. Gas Craic is an essential addition to the band’s discography and a powerful reminder of why The VANNS remain one of Australia’s most compelling rock acts.
