Lord Of The Lost @ Lion Arts Factory, Adelaide 22/2/2026

German metallers Lord Of The Lost arrived in Adelaide and I ventured to check them out. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was they were on Eurovision back in 2023, the have a big cover version they do and my mate loves them. That was it. Begs the question then, what actually happened? Magic, that’s what happened.

From opening number Bazzar Bizarre, my cap was nearly blown away by how powerful and big they sounded. An added percussionist in Gerrit Heinemann supplementing Niklas Kahl drums, was outstanding and grabbed my attention immediately, never letting go.

Vocalist Chris Harms, tries to make the most of the tiny space left on stage, whipping up the audience into fist pumping during I Will Die In It and clapping in Damage. Musically, sure they’re very Northern European, dual guitar melodies, a vocal range that can go quite high and synthesised sounds however it sure is catchy. A quick look around shows that those souls who did venture here are 100% invested.

Those drums (again) in Prison are epic while the places bounces during the stomping Drag Me To Hell. Harms engages the crowd all night, discussing the privilege of playing in Australia and even notes that they attempted this before however allegedly were ripped off by the promoter and never got here.

I Hate People and Blood For Blood absolutely slam, what I would call heavy duty bangers. There’s no doubt that the rhythmic dance beats make each song pump however sometimes just playing the song is all you need and Lord Of The Lost do that.

In The Field Of Blood has the audience chanting and you really feel this is a band that should be on a bigger stage, with a bigger crowd. They have ballads that sway, magic in Black Halo when the beat and riffs kick in and The Look. Yes, the Roxette song.

Like our own Voyager, these guys are Eurovision entrants and their song, Blood & Glitter gets a run, with the surprising part being in that it didn’t really sound like their other songs. So, if you have gauged the band on this song and that cover version and decided against them, I suggest checking out more of their catalogue for a pleasant surprise.

Finishing with the emotional Light Can Only Shine In The Darkness and the imaginatively titled One Last Song, with Harms draped in a golden hue before bursting across the stage, Lord Of The Lost finish their set and to be frank, I really enjoyed it.
