Yungblud, Dune Rats @ Entertainment Centre, Adelaide 15/1/2026
Yungblud (aka Domenic Harrison) fever had taken a stranglehold over Adelaide making this the hottest ticket in town. The Entertainment Centre precinct was certainly abuzz with fans converging on the Entertainment Centre for what would be right up their as one of this year’s best (yep, pretty early to be throwing this moniker around but hot damn this was seriously fantastic). Right from when he landed yesterday social media was ablaze with all things Yungblud and was hard to not get swept up in the excitement of it all.
Shows like this really does bring to front of mind the power of live music and how important it is to bring people closer together and feel a part of the Yungblud community. Adelaide’s show was case example of that. Fans of all ages were out in force stressing that music is for everyone and not limited to or defined by age. The vibe was electric and being a bit late to the party I would say I’m converted. With new album Idols on constant rotation it was like bring on the show.
Opening proceedings were likeable larrikins the Dune Rats who brought the chaos and mayhem early. With forty minutes to get the crowd rockin’ they brought plenty of energy and intensity right from the get go. Encouraging Adelaidians to “stretch your muscles and have a jump” as tonight would be a “special night”. Be Like You, 6 Pack, Scott Green were obvious highlights but the real surprise was about to come with a special version of The Angels Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again. It didn’t end their with The Angels very own John Brewster taking the stage as a guest on guitar as well as Ashton Valladres from TOWNS. Woah! It was an epic moment and the sort of thing that rock ‘n roll folklore is made from. Just picture the audience response to the lyric “am I ever gonna see your face again? “no way get f*****, f*** off.” Absolute gold, which really did bring the crowd to life. Definitely a hard one to top but they did with their mission statement of sorts in Bullshit.
The scene was set…
Inching closer to the start time of quarter past nine the excitement was fever pitch and once the lights dimmed and walk on music being Black Sabbath’s War Pig sounded it sent the crowd in to hyperdrive once the band and the man himself – Dom – took the stage to a hero like reception. Boots, leathers, vest, sunglasses, this look didn’t last long throwing away the vest and sunglasses, drenching his shirtless body. First song Hello Heaven, Hello was the perfect opener and like a lot of the songs on Idols really did come alive marching ten feet taller played live. The focus might have been on Dom but take nothing away from the band and stunning string quartet.
Yungblud leaves nothing on the table as far as energy and intensity goes giving everything to the performance and it is easy to see why he is revered by many. I was exhausted just watching him go through his paces and I wish I had half as much energy as he does. Funeral kept that rock vibe going complete with confetti cannon and pyros. Dom demand the crowd to “Open up a pit! Wider! Wider!” asking whether or not he was in Canberra jokingly pulling out Idols Pt. I and Lovesick Lullaby. Talking about his affinity with Australia he asked if anyone wanted to kidnap him and take him home as he does not want to leave Australia next week promising to come back every eighteen months while he is alive. Also revealing that his very own festival Bludfest would be coming to Australia in 2027 which received plenty of cheers and appreciation.
strawberry lipstick from weird! went down a treat and local fan Jamie had the moment of a lifetime getting up on stage to play fleabag and absolutely nailing it. Lowlife was another big moment with the crowd encourage to get on shoulders and sing-a-long and fans upstairs standing. The poignant moment came with the Black Sabbath cover Changes. No doubt Ozzy would be proud of what he would be hearing as Dom pointed to the sky paying tribute to his dear friend. Such much emotion and passion making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Truly fantastic.
Fire was a winner as was the charm of War from Idols with Dom showing his immense talent extended to the acoustic guitar. “I’m Yungblud, and I’m fucking crazy,” Dom proclaimed. ice cream man got the crowd jumping before pulling out another anthem in Loner. Yungblud is literally unstoppable and there’s nothing he can’t do. What a show! And there was still more. The encore was the cherry on the cake with the epic song Ghosts followed by show closer Zombie. Hats off to you young man, this was a killer show by an artist who is the hottest prospect going round who is right at the top of his game. His gratitude and respect for his fans is top shelf even coming out to the front of the venue under the atrium to say hi and thank his fans. Look forward to Bludfest in 2027.
