Polish Club Announce Their Xmas Bowlo Bash, Alongside Festive Covers Album Christmas Stinks!

Christmas Stinks! But don’t let that stop you from having the greatest night of your life at Polish Club’s Xmas Bowlo Bash, as Novak, JH and a bunch of very special guests rip through the best holiday covers you’ve ever heard, pulled straight from their upcoming record Christmas Stinks!

The immaculate concept album comes with its own advent-ish calendar The Twenty Days of Christmas Stinks, which will see Polish Club release 20 songs in 20 days, starting today with Wham!’s iconic hit Last Christmas.

Other songs include classics like Feliz Navidad, Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, as well as Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime and a new recording of Polish Club’s much-loved 2017 cover of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, which first inspired their love of spreading Christmas cheer.

You’ll also hear some guest vocalists on the record. Ang Aking Pamasko is a full circle moment which sees Novak duet with his mum Eileen on a Filipino Christmas classic, made popular by her own band The New Minstrels in the 70s.

To celebrate the season, join the band at the ultimate Christmas party, Polish Club’s Xmas Bowlo Bash at both Melbourne’s Thornbury Bowls Club on Sat 20 Dec and Sydney’s Marrickville Bowlo on Sun 21 Dec, where any Grinch who says Christmas stinks! is guaranteed a frivolity filled evening of Christmas classics reimagined for your fun-loving friends, with some super special guests and surprises on the night.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without some outrageous stocking stuffers, would it? Well, Polish Club have you covered with plenty of tongue-in-cheek merch, including tees, socks, stubby holders, cards, car air fresheners, whoopie cushions and of course their Christmas Stinks! vinyl to soundtrack your festivities.

On their affinity for festivities, Polish Club singer/guitarist David Novak explains “I used to be somewhat of an edge-lord holiday hater, but I’ve grown to really appreciate how the holiday period affords us a sleep in, a big belly and some genuine quality time with people you perhaps should spend more time with. I’ve also learned that if you’re sick of Christmas carols & holiday tunes, the best way to get over that is to record your own rock n roll versions and embrace the Christmas chaos.
