Celine Dion Bee Gees At The Regal This Friday…

When you put three powerhouse vocalists together singing songs from iconic artists such as Celine Dion and the Bee Gees, its bound to be a show you can not miss! As part of Adelaide’s Feast Festival, Greg Gould, Kate Dearaugo and Tarryn Stokes have joined forces to bring a show with big hits and even bigger voices to the Regal Theatre for one night only Friday 14 November. Greg Gould chatted to Hi Fi Way about the show and what audiences can expect.

You’re back in Adelaide for another amazing show, Immortality celebrating the music of Celine Dion and BeeGees. Are you excited to bring this show to the Regal Theatre?
I love Adelaide audiences and this show is really special. This time I’m bringing Kate DeAraugo and Tarryn Stokes to the Regal Theatre for the first time – it’s a really beautiful show and I know people are gonna love it.

How did you come up with the idea of the show?
I’ve always wanted to work with Tarryn Stokes. She’s got the most remarkable voice and her big tv moment on The Voice was a version of Céline Dion‘s All By Myself’ so I thought if she can do Céline who could I do to compliment that and I thought of the Bee Gees because they actually wrote the song IMMORTALITY for Celine and recorded with her. Kate and I have been friends for a few years now and Kate called me this at around the same time I was putting this show together and said she wanted to do a show with me!! So I said why don’t you join forces with Tarryn and I and the two of them have also become beautiful friends so it’s just like three mates up there singing our hearts out and having a great time!

You’re in great company with Kate Dearaugo and Tarryn Stokes. How did that happen?
True story I was actually on the same season as Kate of Idol when I was sixteen years old (I made the top 50) but too young for us to properly connect. I first began chatting with Kate online during the pandemic and we met up for coffee and it was a really special and an instant connection. We just got talking and we had similar stories in a lot of ways and we had both been through a lot and it was the start of what now is one of my closest friendships and any chance to get on stage with Kate is a blessing. Tarryn I have known since I was one of the hundred judges on All Together Now, she was a contestant and then when I saw her doing The Voice, I reached out to her, congratulated her and we got talking and again a beautiful friendship was started and yeah we’re all just the great friends who love performing together, love singing together and it’s a true joy when us three are together

What can audiences expect from the show?
Amazing vocals, sparkly costumes, a beautiful catalogue of music from both of these incredible artists! Who doesn’t love Céline Dion!?? and of course the Bee Gees are Australian music royalty and not just the songs that they recorded themselves but the many great songs they recorded for others like Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross – you name it! It’s a high energy show, it’s funny, we tell stories and it’s just a great night of music. It’s a fun night out!

You will be performing songs from two iconic artsits, can you tell us a few of the songs audiences can expect to hear?
Of course there’s the hits like My Heart Will Go On, Because You Loved Me, Beauty & The Beast, That’s The Way It Is but there’s also some of the other rarities like the Show Must Go On, River Deep Mountain High, Natural Woman and as for the Bee Gees it’s Staying Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Islands In The Stream and of course the beautiful title of our show IMMORTALITY is a huge standout. It’s such a beautiful song.

Which song is your favourite to perform in this show?
I really love songs like Emotion and Grease but I think the duets and group numbers are my favs

Describe your show in three words?
Energetic, beautiful, memorable
