Sienna Skies Announce One Off Special Adelaide Show

‘If you haven’t seen us then you can ask the few thousand people that did watch us at Froth & Fury because we left Adelaide with zero merch and we were rushing all week to try and get some merch printed. We had such an awesome day, we got such awesome feedback and yeah, I’m sure there’s a few single people in Adelaide that don’t have anything to do on the night.’

Thomas Pirozzi, vocalist of Sienna Skies is excited about next months one off show in Adelaide, on Valentines Night no less, with Adelaide luminaries such as Down & Out, Left On Seen and Connections.

‘I don’t think there’s anything on in town that night apart from a whole lot of people going on dates. So hopefully they go out to dinner and swing by the Cranker for a beer and they a little bit of rock and roll afterwards.’

It’s been a hot minute since the band were here as part of Froth & Fury, part of their own headline tour, which begs the questions, why the one show and why Adelaide?

‘We figured when we came down in November for our tour of that run, we kept ticket prices at $29 I think it was. We absolutely loved playing the festival, but that also meant that priced out a lot of people from coming. It’s a festival, it’s an expensive day, so a lot of people can’t make it and we thought that why not come back to Adelaide? It’s like a second home for us anyway. Damon Broheir, our drummer lives there, so yeah, that’s why there’s a one-off show down there.’

2024 saw three touring spots, starting with supporting Of Mice & Men, and their own two headline runs, how did the lads feel at the end of eventful year.

‘We were pretty stoked with it. We got back, we were exhausted as per usual. We didn’t expect the long drive to catch up on us the way that they did put it that way. We definitely noticed our age when we’re spending twelve to fifteen hours in a van! I feel like we just didn’t think it was enough. We wanted to play more shows, so we made sure we tacked that tour on for the end of the year. I think maybe we just weren’t quite exhausted enough, so we thought we’d do it again! We also got to smash on a couple of extra days in some places that we haven’t been to before. So we did a show in Wollongong, Wagga and Canberra on that tour as well. So just outside of all the standard major cities, which was really nice, especially country New South Wales. It’s unreal getting out to some of the rural places. So hopefully we can do a bit more of that this year.’

After such a fruitful year, what does 2025 hold for the band?

‘We’ve got a few little things in the pipeline. We’re doing a whole lot of writing. A couple of boys are having kids again, so it might get a little quiet over the next few months while we’ve got a couple of extra newborns in the Sienna family. So it’s going to be a pretty special time. We’re just doing some writing and we’re hoping to just jump onto anything that we can. We’re really going to focus on getting some new material done and sorted and hopefully we’ll be back out before the end of the year.’

The three Adelaide bands on the bill – Down & Out, Left On Seen and Connections – all have, if you excuse the pun, a connection to the headliners which will make the show a fun night.

‘Ashley (singer of Left On Seen) is an old friend of ours and she helped us out on our last tour in April when we kicked it off down there. Yeah, she’s a good friend from a long time ago. We had a heap of fun with her when we hung out pretty much all day at Froth & Fury, so it was a good time.’

‘Down & Out? They did some work with one of our producer friends, Stevie Knight, who releases nothing but fire and just knew that they were a popular Adelaide band and we wanted it to be very much an Adelaide affair. It’s almost a hometown show for us, we’ve always got a lot of love from there.

‘Connections too. Our friend Josh McCawley just did the video for Connections as well, he’d mentioned them while we’re on tour and he said that he’d been working with them. When they released the video (for ‘Façade’) he made sure to send it to us because he’s very proud of it. It’s an unreal video and really good band, really looking forward to catching them on the night as well.’
