Miami Horror Teases Their First Album In Nine-Years With New Single ‘Together’
Miami Horror, led by Australian-born, LA-based electronic producer Benjamin Plant, has released their new single, TOGETHER – a preview of the band’s first album in nine years. A nostalgic anthem about unity that encapsulates the innocent optimism of childhood, TOGETHER offers a glimpse into the themes that comprise the band’s forthcoming concept album – a deeply personal exploration of adolescence, growth, and the interconnectedness of the universe.
Built around a captivating sample from underground soul legend Errol Stubbs, the track is a vibrant fusion of downtempo disco and indie pop. Co-produced by Styalz Fuego (Troye Sivan, Tate McCrae, The Knocks), TOGETHER sees Miami Horror collaborating with Bajan singer-songwriter Ayoni, Australian singer-songwriter Ngaiire, and Gold Coast-based singer-songwriter Beckah Amani on vocals.
Miami Horror shares the following about the song’s significance:
‘TOGETHER’ was originally about coming together, as we wanted to remind people about unity in a time when we were experiencing so much division. We grew up in a time when countries felt more united, and people had more of a ‘love thy neighbour’ approach to life. As we were playing around with the sample, we felt the song had a childlike innocence that we also wanted to channel. It reminded us of the nostalgic childhood emotions we felt toward music, when it wasn’t pretentious, when it felt somewhat magic, and a song could feel like an adventure. We’ve always admired songs that resonate across all ages, whether you’re a child or a grandparent.
TOGETHER comes on the heels of last week’s subtle release, the 71-second prelude, BEYOND US. Miami Horror expresses, ‘BEYOND US’ is a teaser and tone setter for the album. We were really happy that we could cover the cosmos, young love, nostalgia, contemplations of existence and the cycle of life within one scene. Almost all of the album’s themes. We love concept albums and the adventure of an album. You see much less of that these days, especially in an era where fleeting 2-min songs dominate. This inspired us to lead with ‘BEYOND US,’ instead of a single as a statement to emphasise this album will be a journey.”
TOGETHER and BEYOND US are previews of what to expect on an album that promises to be an enthralling voyage filled with introspection, intrigue, and profound emotion through the lens of sonic innovation and striking creativity. More music and news from Miami Horror to follow.
