Audio Reign Are Back To Rock The Woodshed…

Fresh from supporting American rock band Skillet, Adelaide’s Audio Reign are ready to continue the rock by playing at Adelaide’s home of hard rock the Woodshed on April 20 and there’s one thing guaranteed they will rock the house down! With new album The Perfect Sea dropping May 10 and gigs in Melbourne the lads have a lot to look forward to in 2024. Lead singer Jake Fleming chatted to Hi Fi Way about what’s coming up for the band this year.

You have a gig coming up at the Woodshed. Your last gig there which was sold out went off. It’s a great venue for Rock gigs. How do you feel about returning there to play?
We absolutely love The Woodshed! This place just feels like home for a band like us which is why we call it ‘The Home of Hard Rock!’

Ace and Matt have done a stellar job putting this venue together and have somehow harnessed the memories of our own teenage bedrooms (but on a much larger scale) and visions we all had for the perfect Hard heavy rock house!! They’ve damn well nailed it!

We cannot wait to get back there this weekend to bring the heart and soul of Woodshed to life again!

Shotgun Mistress are also on the lineup. Have you played gigs with them before?
Unfortunately due to personal reasons, our brothers in Shotgun have had to pull out of this weekends gig. Strangely enough we haven’t performed with Shotgun Mistress before due to one reason or another but we do plan to perform together a lot more in the future in different states.

Shotgun Mistress are just as upset about having to cancel as we are but have promised to make it up to everyone at some point by coming back to Adelaide to do a show with Audio Reign.

Local heavy blues band ‘Chickensalt’ will now step up to main support. These guys put on one hell of a show and their songs are packed with tasty riffs and guitar solos! You will not be disappointed.

The evening will now be fired up by our very good mates in ‘REVEL’ (which may or may not feature members or Audio Reign). Revel will be performing a set of some of the biggest rock bangers of the 90s and 2000s which is guaranteed to get everyone in the perfect headspace for the this huge rock party!

You recently supported Skillet. How was that gig at the Hindley St Music Hall?
The Skillet show was absolutely brilliant! We supported Skillet back in 2018 on their last tour to Australia and we were blown away by the overwhelming acceptance and support of the Skillet fans. This time round was no different! The crowd once again made us feel so welcome by rocking out to our set, buying our merch, coming to say hello after our performance and letting us know that they are now Audio Reign fans.

I also noticed that you have a Melbourne gig coming up. Tell us a bit about that?
Yes! We are headed over to rock Melbourne on May 3 and 4. These shows are presented by our Label ‘XMusic’ and management ‘HEAVY Magazine’ showcasing a selection of the Label family including Audio Reign, Sisters Doll, XCalibre and Cicadastone over two huge nights.

We’re hitting the Workers Club in Fitzroy on Friday May 3, then were headed to Scotties Garage in Seaford on Saturday May 4 for Star Wars day! The bands styles are all slightly different but are all within the hard heavy rock genre, Due to limited tickets left, these shows are definitely going to sell out, so if you want to come along, be sure to score your tickets ASAP via the links on our social pages.

You released the single Breathe a couple of months ago. How has the reception been for that song?
Breathe has been extremely well received! The music video views have also been fantastic, and we’ve had a lot of awesome feedback from fans about the song. When you get people commenting that they “LOVE THIS SONG” and that “This band totally Fu#%*# ROCKS”, it’s really humbling and also inspiring to know that they have resonated with our music and we’ve affected their lives somehow. I have so many songs in my own personal life soundtrack that helped me through many situations and emotions.

The power of a song is incredible when you identify with it and apply it to whatever you are personally going through be it good or bad. Music is life!

What are the plans for Audio Reign this year?
Take over the world!… well get a platinum record first… then take over the world!

Audio Reign are looking forward to a super productive year. We’ve got shows planned throughout the year for Adelaide, Melbourne, and were also looking towards, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth. Although we have support Australia wide for our music, we want to be able to give all our fans the chance to experience the energy of a live Audio Reign show!

Our brand new album The Perfect Sea is dropping on May 10 via our label XMusic. The Perfect Sea features all our recent singles including Motorway, Breathe, Last in Line and Crown, which will be available on Vinyl (Limited Edition Blue), CD and Digital.
