Ocean Alley Announce Headline Shows In Hobart, Adelaide & Sunshine Coast
Closing out what has been a mammoth year for Australian rockers Ocean Alley, today the beloved six-piece are thrilled to announce three headline shows in early 2024 presented by SummerSalt. Windang surf-rockers Hockey Dad will feature as main support across all shows, joined by a rotating collective of rising local artists at each date.
Ocean Alley will kick off this run of shows in Hobart on March 23 at Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens with rising stars Great Gable, Bec Stevens and Seaside joining the lineup, plus more to be announced. Adelaide is the second stop on April 6 at Point Malcom Reserve, with support from Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Coterie, West Thebarton, Rum Jungle and Clews. The third date is at the Sunshine Coast’s Sandstone Point Hotel on April 7, the lineup rounded out by Great Gable, Coterie, Full Flower Moon Band, Rum Jungle, Clews, Seaside and Velvet Trip.

Only making a few Australian appearances in 2024, these headline dates during March and April will likely be the band’s only shows at home for the year. The band will also headline Here Comes The Sun festival in Torquay and Margaret River on March 30 and April 13 respectively, plus a couple more Coastal dates still to be announced.
Today’s announcement follows the recent revival of Ocean Alley’s 6x Platinum single Confidence, which is back in the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart more than five years after it was first released – currently sitting at #19, and #1 on the Australian Top 20 Singles Chart. A TikTok trend using a sped-up version of the track early last month has seen the song spike across DSPs to brand new heights and topping countless viral streaming charts, but also, for the first time, cracking international charts including US Billboard Hot Alternative Songs (#13), Hot Rock Songs (#21), Hot Rock & Alternative Songs (#26), UK’s Independent Singles Chart (#6) and New Zealand’s Top 40 Singles Chart (#9). As a result, the band have experienced huge growth across all DSP and social channels, including consumption across their broader catalogue.
The resurgence of Confidence follows a huge 12 months of touring for the band off-the-back of their critically acclaimed fourth LP Low Altitude Living (2022) – their eight-date victory lap around Australia and New Zealand between September and November this year, saw the band sell over 42,000 tickets in Australia – shows at huge Australian venues such as Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, Brisbane’s Riverstage and Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium sold out immediately following their announcement, and saw extra dates added nationally. Add into the mix a headline show at Auckland’s Spark Arena, and total tickets sold rises to over 47,000.
