LOLA Ignites Musical Ecstasy With New Single ‘Batshit’

Combining energetic, feel-good music with a dedicated, old school work ethic, LOLA are turning heads and starting mosh pits all over Australia.

The Adelaide-based band finds mates Billy Burns (lead vocals, guitar), Sebastian Reyes-Hewett (vocals, lead guitar), Maxwell Bowen (bass) and Mitchell Seager (drums). Described as a ‘refreshing taste of punk’, LOLA’s DIY punk attitude is not going unnoticed.

This year has already been a monumental one for LOLA, with several notable achievements under their belt. The charismatic mates kicked off 2023 performing at Groovin The Moo and supporting punk icons, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

In July, LOLA will be taking on international festival stages, as they embark on their debut European tour, “That’s Not A Kangaroo!”.

LOLA were nominated for a whopping four categories at the 2022 South Australian Music Awards: Best New Artist, Best Music Video, Best Release and People’s Choice Punk. Taking home Best New Artist further cemented LOLA as heavy weights in the scene and fortunately the outfit are showing no signs of slowing down.

Blending an eclectic mix of artist influences, from NOFX and The Bennies to The Clash, and even Radiohead, LOLA creates music inspired by the natural environment, life experiences, shitty situations, the government and general inebriation mixed with tom-foolery.

As LOLA prepares to embark on their European tour, the Adelaide party starters are ecstatic to announce the release of their latest single BATSHIT.

Recorded at Depict Studios under the guidance of Lachy Pitcher (Hindsight, Towns, Sleep Talk, Pinkish Blu), BATSHIT expertly blends a range of genres and showcases LOLA’s evolution towards a more mature sound, while still maintaining their signature, high energy style.

Sebastian Reyes Hewitt, lead vocals and creative force behind BATSHIT, shared his inspiration for the single: “This song is stylistically a bit of a new twist for us. It explores the concept of being addicted to someone unhealthy, a ‘can’t live with ’em, can’t live without ’em’ type of situation. It’s about the desire to leave but being unable to.

Building on the success of recent release, Billionaire, BATSHIT is quickly becoming a fan favourite at LOLA’s chaotic and unpredictable live shows – a testament to the band’s ability to connect with their fans and compel the audience to lose themselves in the euphoria that LOLA effortlessly conjures.

In addition to the release of BATSHIT, LOLA is thrilled to announce they will be supporting iconic punk rock band Descendents in October.

BATSHIT will be available across all streaming platforms now
