LENI Releases Soul Stirring Second Single ‘What’s On Your Mind’ Ahead Of His Debut EP

LENI releases the mesmerising and melodic second single, WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND off his forthcoming 9-track EP titled Greenlights.
WOYM was initially written as a stripped back song with just guitar and vocals, performed on LENI’s loop station. Taking inspiration from Leon Bridges, Michael Kiwanuka and Ed Sheeran, this co-produced track by LENI and producer Gareth Thomson was crafted during lockdown over zoom sessions.
This single delves into the complexities of love, vulnerability, and the pursuit of truth. With its relatable lyrics, endless grooves and soulful hooks, it invites you to explore the depths of longing and the desire for genuine connection.
WOYM paints a vivid image of a relationship unravelling and the struggles of broken communication and trust. As the protagonist navigates conflicting emotions and the pain of being taken for granted, you are drawn into a powerful narrative that would most likely echo an experience of your own.
LENI shares that WOYM was inspired by daily struggles and pressures put on lovers during hard times – especially the last few years with the world going into lockdown.
“This song tries to express the eb and flow nature of relationships, be it with your partner, family, or friends. It delves into those challenging moments where open communication becomes pivota, urging loved ones to honestly express their thoughts and feelings. I wanted to capture the feelings of love/hate and frustration we experience when someone you love insists that nothing is wrong, despite their body language, attitude, and energy indicating otherwise. From these emotions, ‘WOYM’ emerges as a testament to the universal struggles we all face.”
This release comes as a follow up to his recently released single COLD LOVE and precursor to LENI’s highly anticipated debut EP titled Greenlights, set to unveil a total of nine tracks. Through his rich talent and creative vision, LENI has crafted a unique sound that captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression.
