Jungle Announce New Album ‘Volcano’

British producer duo Jungle have shared their glorious new track CANDLE FLAME (featuring Erick The Architect), taken from their forthcoming fourth studio album, VOLCANO which is set for release on 11 August.

Jungle’s plans for 2023 don’t stop there… Following on from the recent confirmation of their headline set at All Points East (26 August), the band have also announced details of a major North American and European headline tour.

VOLCANO follows Jungle’s previous album Loving In Stereo, which proved to be a landmark moment for the acclaimed UK duo. It achieved their highest domestic chart position to date debuting at #3 and in the US it catapulted to #1 on the Billboard Dance Albums chart which led to major Arena shows as guests to Billie Eilish.

Spinning timeless disco, soul and hip hop elements into Jungle’s unmistakable future-facing production, CANDLE FLAME features the distinctive rapid fire rhymes of Erick The Architect and shimmers with the bold, exuberant energy that will no doubt make it an instant live favourite when Jungle head out on tour later this year.

Jungle commented, “As Jungle, we are incredibly proud of our latest release, ‘Candle Flame’. We wanted to create a song that was both personal and relatable, exploring the highs and lows of love and relationships in a way that was both poetic and authentic. Working with Erick The Architect was an absolute pleasure, and his unique perspective and talent added an extra layer of depth and richness to the track. “Candle Flame” represents everything that we stand for as a band – creativity, passion, and a commitment to making music that touches the hearts and minds of our fans. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it, and we hope that it brings joy and inspiration to all who listen.”

The free-spirited energy that runs right through VOLCANO reflects how organically it came together. J and T had written most of the record on tour before starting the recording process while staying in an Airbnb in Los Angeles. It was later completed back home in London at their favourite location, Studio B at Metropolis Studios. This time around, the duo wanted to include a wider variety of voices within the album. In addition to Erick The Architect, they reunited with Bas (who previously featured on the Loving In Stereo single Romeo) for Pretty Little Thing, as well as calling on talents in the shape of Roots Manuva, Channel Tres and JNR Williams.

The VOLCANO cover art continues the elegant, minimalism that has graced the front of each of their previous three records. Once again, the core graphic design remains the same, but the palette has shifted to reflect the album’s sonic style, this time with a rich warmth that complements the production and its summer ambience.

The All Points East headline slot will kickstart a huge year of touring for Jungle, which continues with extensive touring across North America and Europe. The duo’s euphoric, full-live band show will grace some of their biggest venues to date including arena shows across America and Europe – as they’re set to play to a total of more than 190,000 people.

Jungle are lifelong friends from Shepherd’s Bush, London. Their self-titled breakthrough debut album became an instant classic, leading to a Mercury Prize nomination, which they followed with the album For Ever before amplifying their success with Loving In Stereo – all contributing to a total of over a billion streams to date. Their extended live band has made them firm festival favourites, headlining Wilderness and South Facing as well as drawing huge crowds as far afield as Coachella and Lollapalooza Brazil, while headline shows have included Alexandra Palace and multiple nights at the O2 Academy Brixton. Their visionary stylised and choreographed videos are also a major aspect of Jungle’s artistic identity, most notably with the ambitious visual narrative that spanned every track on Loving In Stereo.
