Holy Holy Announce National Tour Kicking Off In April

To celebrate the release of their brand new single Messed Up (feat. Kwame), Holy Holy have announced an 11-stop national headline tour for April & May 2023, featuring special guests Kwame, CLEWS and Medhanit.

Fan pre-sale goes live at 10am AEDT Monday 6th March (pre-sale sign up here), and general admission tickets will go onsale at 10am AEDT Tuesday 7th March.

A song unlike anything they have released before, Messed Up (feat. Kwame) is a daring move by the group. An arpeggiated synth floats under Sydney-based rapper Kwame’sconfessional lyrics before the rapper throws the shackles off and purges the line “Being with you feels so damn messed up!”, launching the track into a drum ‘n’ bass beast at 180 beats per minute.

“At first we wondered, is this a Holy Holy song?” says Oscar Dawson, production whiz and multi-instrumentalist for the perennially buzzy, ARIA Platinum-certified act. “But once we finished making ‘Messed Up’ with Kwame, I think it was undeniable,” says Tim Carroll, Holy Holy singer and guitarist. “It makes me feel things and works on a bunch of different levels.”

The track arrives with a striking video directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and is the first taste of Holy Holy’s forthcoming as-yet-untitled fifth album, which will feature surprise collaborations with an iconic Australian dance music duo, local and international hip hop artists, and more.

Holy Holy first met Kwame while they were working in a Sydney studio on a different track with rising Australian rapper Tasman Keith. The interaction went so well, Dawson and Carroll sent him home with some instrumentals they had been tinkering on for some time. Less than 24 hours later, Kwame sent them his vocal ideas over an instrumental labelled Messed Up – a song the pair had previously been unable to progress. They knew they were onto something and flew the Sydney artist down to Dawson’s new studio in Rye in regional Victoria to complete the track.

“The synergy between the three of us was amazing,” beams Kwame.

With their four full-length albums to date, the duo has built a loyal and dedicated fan base with over 100 million streams across their body of work and multiple gold and platinum singles hanging on their walls. If that wasn’t enough, there are nominations for ARIA Awards, J Awards and National Live Music Awards to take note of, all maintained through their fanatically attended live shows and unique songwriting.

Fans can witness that chemistry when Holy Holy bring Kwame along for a national tour taking in capital cities and regional areas, along with previous collaborators Clews. With a reputation as one of Australia’s best live acts, Holy Holy will debut new material alongside favourites from their top 5 ARIA Album Hello My Beautiful World and their growing catalogue of hits including True Lovers, Maybe You Know, Teach Me About Dying and Sentimental and Monday.
