Bliss n Eso, Ekoh @ The Gov, Adelaide 23/11/2022

Wednesday night saw Bliss n Eso’s sold-out Wheel of Tunes spin into town and Adelaide was lucky enough to be the first stop on their National Tour. Arriving not long after the doors opened, the back room at The Gov was packed to capacity, so much so we ended up sitting outside in their newly renovated beer garden. The great thing about the outdoor area is that you still get a great view of the stage.

Warming up the crowd for the evening was American hip-hop artist Ekoh. We had a quick listen in the car on the way to the gig and liked what we heard but the Ekoh experience live is something else. I was blown away by Ekoh, his ability to stay tight and clear throughout his double time rapping was phenomenal and appreciated by the crowd. Highlights for me were Pickle Rick and Butterfly 2021, two tracks where he samples some well-known songs – I won’t give it away but go and check them out. A high energy set that really got the crowd pumped I know he definitely garnered at least two new Aussie fans.

This tour is a little different for Bliss n Eso. Reaching out to fans on social media the guys asked us to vote on which cult classics and hits we wanted to hear played. These were added to the “Wheel Of Tunes.” The result was an absolute belter of a show as we sang to some of their hits along with classics that don’t get played live often, if at all.

Adorned in a suave red suit Ekoh became our Wheel Of Tunes Host for the evening introducing Bliss n Eso to the stage to a monstrous roar from the crowd. Calling up random audience members to take turns at the Wheel, we were taken back with hits like Reflections, Party At My Place, Get Your Boof On and Coastal Kids. The highlight of the night for me was Reservoir Dogs with Ekoh filling in for Drapht and Seth. This was such an energetic and interactive gig and was one of the funnest I have been to this year. Watching the boys on stage you could tell that this tour is going to be one for the records!

As expected, some of the shows on this tour have already sold out but if you can get your hands on a ticket, I guarantee you’re going to have the best night.
