Moses Sumney To Play Headline Shows In Adelaide & Brisbane

Ghanaian-raised singer-songwriter MOSES SUMNEY has announced two headline show dates this June in Australia. Sumney will perform at Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on June 9 before heading to Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on June 11.

The shows mark his first return to Australia since releasing hugely acclaimed 2020 album græ which was followed in 2021 with his concert album and film, Live from Blackalachia.

Moses Sumney was raised between Ghana and California, and through his multi-faceted art, explores his experiences as an outsider producing a blended sound of acoustic soul, art, rock, jazz, orchestral pop and cinematic vocals. Since releasing his debut 4-track cassette EP in 2014, Sumney has gone on to collaborate with Sufjan Stevens, James Blake, Beck, Solange and many more household names.

Sumney’s 2020 double album græ won the singer-songwriter comparison from critics of his sprawling voice to the heights of Prince, ANOHNI, Bjork and Thom Yorke and much praise for his ability to create a raw, emotional connection with listeners.
