Great Gable Return With A New Single & Tour

Great Gable returns with the carefree new single Hazy, and the tracks radiant visual accompaniment via their new label Rainbow Valley Records, helmed by Matt Corby and Alex Henriksson. To celebrate, the Perth four-piece has announced a headline tour of Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Adelaide in March and April 2022.

Hazy glistens with vibrant melodies, deft guitar lines, and the luscious vocals of Alex Whiteman. “Hazy started out as some happy sounding chords that I’d play most days during lockdown, before we were able to meet up in person and jam together. It’s about trying your best to stay positive during uncertain times,” says bassist Chris Bye of the track.

Directed by Jeremy Hancock, the official video for Hazy offers a picturesque glimpse behind the scenes of the recording at the idyllic Rainbow Valley. “We had such a rad time shooting the film clips at Rainbow Valley, especially working with someone like Jez who has so much experience. He had the cameras on us all day but we didn’t even know!” says frontman Alex Whiteman of the clip.

Hazy is the first new music since the release of Great Gable’s critically acclaimed 2020 debut album Tracing Faces, and their first with new label Rainbow Valley Records. ARIA award-winning artist and producer Matt Corby and his long-time producer, writer and collaborator, Alex Henriksson had this to say of the signing, “To work with a real band in a world full of fake overproduced and sometimes exhausting music is a blessing. Great Gable is as real as they come. They know what it takes to be one of the best and are on a constant pursuit of this dream. There are no fancy tricks to get it to where it is, only solid musicianship, attention to detail and an honest connection to the musical spirit that guides us all.”

Guitarist Matt Preen adds, “We are super excited to sign with Rainbow Valley Records. A label owned and run by artists is something that sits well with us. Matt and Al come from a musical background so they understand what we as artists want from our music.”

This year, Great Gable is one of a very few bands to lay claim to a 21-date national sold-out tour. With a fervent, die-hard fanbase, and renowned for their mesmerising and commanding live performance, they’ve supported the likes of Ocean Alley, The Jungle Giants, Thelma Plum and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and performed festival sets at Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival, SOTA Fest and Wave Rock Weekender amongst numerous sold out tours.
