Pittsburgh hardcore/metal band 156/SILENCE have released a beastly cover of ALICE IN CHAINS’ beloved track Them Bones. The song is featured on the band’s Deluxe Edition of Irrational Pull that’s out now via SharpTone Records.

“I’m probably the most excited for everyone to hear our cover of “Them Bones.” As a huge Alice In Chains fan myself it was really fun learning that song and putting a bit of our own spin on it.” – Ryan Wilkinson (Guitarist).

Established in 2015, 156/SILENCE represents the duality of light and dark. Combining vicious breakdowns and soaring melodies in the vein of genre pioneers like Poison The Well, Norma Jean and Daughters, 156 crafts songs that scream at the darkness but also whisper to the light.

The band came out of the gate swinging with their debut full length, Undercover Scumbag, in 2018. That offering introduced the world to a new lineup and a new, more focused and ferocious musical direction. After touring relentlessly and sharing the stage with bands like Varials, Black Tongue, The Acacia Strain and I Am, 156 set to work on creating their most diverse material yet, their sophomore outing Irrational Pull.

MANCHESTER, UK – HEART OF GOLD, the pop act brought to life by Michael McGough, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of both Heart of Gold and rock-band Being As An Ocean, has released a new stripped-back single and music video for See Through (Unplugged). The soft, summery vibe of the song is complimented by the film-strip-style in which the video is shot. See Through (Unplugged) highlights Heart of Gold’s unique soft pop sound and is available to stream via SharpTone Records:

“Despite this being the stripped back version of See Through, we wanted to bring in a whole new level of feeling to this track,” shares McGough on the reimagined single. “When we initially wrote it in the studio, we were meticulous in finding the right words with the right meaning. We knew from then that an alternative version would be created one way or another, focusing more on the true emotion behind this song. and what better way to do that than with a raw and unfiltered version of it.’’

UK based newcomers Captives announced that they had signed to SharpTone Records for the release of their debut album, which will be coming in 2021. The band release a brand new, standalone single to tide fans over until further news of the full length can be revealed.

Vocalist Matt Flood explains the new single Glass Heart speaks about the fraudulence of our own sanity, self-worth & pride; caused by the fractures and cracks in toxic relationships and friendships. We should not make one another feel like lesser people, nor should we let the toxicity of love and the need to be loved obstruct our vision of our own feelings and what’s important to us.

From questioning the sincerity and reasoning of the person before you, to subconsciously doubting your own gut feelings and second guessing yourself. ‘We should know better’ than to let the actions of another dictate our self- worth. We wrote this song to bring ourselves to our own attention; to realise that while we all have weakness like our glass hearts, we can also see that we are stronger than we’re perceived.”

Michigan metalcore breakouts OF VIRTUE continue their celebration for the newly released Deluxe Edition of their critically celebrated album What Defines You that’s out now on SharpTone Records. The band has revealed video for their new version of Pictures of You (Reimagine) featuring Patrick Harney, that is another example of the band’s ability to tear at the heartstrings using one of their fans’ favourite songs.”

Commenting on the song, vocalist Tyler Ennis states:

“Pictures Of You is more than just a personal song. I wrote it about losing my sister, however, it’s also for those dealing with the passing of their own loved ones too. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to hold back tears while listening – it has helped me and my family cope, hopefully it helps you too. It’s not just our song – it’s yours too.”
