AMARANTHE have shared their declaration to the world: The Swedish metalheroes’ most epic album to date, Manifest, is out now!
AMARANTHE commented:
“So, we come to it at last! We are so very proud and happy to finally unveil ‘Manifest’ to the world, an album written with so much pure joy and enthusiasm, and yet very nearly did not see the light of day. When faced with the decision to record the album despite a world wide pandemic, the answer was the same as when we cancelled tours that were supposed to promote the album: we HAVE to release this album in 2020! As our long-time listeners are well aware of, AMARANTHE believes in positive, energetic and uplifting music, and we feel that such sentiments are more needed than ever before! Easily our most confident and convincing album to date, this is music born out of pure passion and eagerness to create. This is our manifesto, and all our aesthetic aspirations made apparent – this is ‘Manifest’.”
Back with a vengeance and hell-bent on destruction, Norwegian death metallers, CADAVER, are back in business and ready to reign. The band announces that Edder & Bile, the first full length from this band’s new incarnation of Anders Odden’s original, extreme metal vision, will be released on November 27th via Nuclear Blast Records. In celebration, the band have released the music video for the first single, Morgue Ritual.
Anders Odden comments, “I met Dirk Verbeuren during the 70000 Tons Of Metal festival in 2014. He was sitting in for Frost in SATYRICON and we played 2 shows together. It turned out that Dirk was a huge CADAVER fan and at the time I had several songs in the making for what I thought might be a solo album. The idea of kicking this all into the 3rd version of CADAVER came into life and we started to share ideas. We had about 10 songs by the time Dirk was on tour in Europe with MEGADETH in 2016. They played in my neighbourhood and we spent the afternoon jamming. CADAVER was reborn. I started to pile up ideas for new tracks and time went by. I really wanted this to sound like CADAVER and be up to date, yet timeless. The music is what we both consider as death metal. I have my own way of writing riffs and he has his own way of expressing them on drums that just fits and sounds great.
We finally found the time to hit the studio in early 2019 and recorded the album in LA where Dirk lives and works. The music just sparks of energy and freshness from the experience we had jamming together. We are truly kindred spirits and are in this for the long run for sure. ‘Edder & Bile’ is the manifestation of our commitment to music and the start of everlasting life for the old CADAVER.”
Canadian melodic death metal heavyweights KATAKLYSM have unleashed their 14th full-length studio album, UNCONQUERED, unto the world via Nuclear Blast Records. The band offers fans the music video for Cut Me Down, featuring Tuomas Saukkonen (WOLFHEART).
Maurizio Iacono comments, “‘Cut Me Down’ is a melodic, high octane assault with thrash elements and relentless power, showcasing another angle of our new album “’UNCONQUERED’ which is eleased today! The lyrical idea of this song is being surrounded by someone whose sole purpose is betraying you and taking advantage of you. Luckily for me, I trust no one. I did however trust Tuomas Saukkonen of WOLFHEART to come and give a hand on the song and rip through the chorus with me as a special guest! “
BELPHEGOR will re-release their 2000 album Necrodaemon Terrorsathan on November 6th. Twenty years after its first appearance the third studio album of the European black death metal force comes to new life as remastered version – available as CD and LP.
The band already shares a first taste of that sinister resurrection with a stunning music video for their re-recorded version of the title track Necrodaemon Terrorsathan [available as digital single only].
Helmuth states: “During these uncertain global times, we continue to glorify the Pan-demonic Totentanz with the re-recorded title track, NECRODAEMON TERRORSATHAN. It’s a manifestation of Diabolical Death Metal in its purest form. 20 years after the original release, it’s an offering to the horde that supports BELPHEGOR, making it possible for us to still be here, on fire, and stronger than ever before. We hail you!”
Brazilian Metal Giants SEPULTURA have launched their environmentally conscious video for Guardians of Earth in collaboration with Amazon Frontlines. Amazon Frontlines is a non-profit organization based in the Upper Amazon that leverages technology, legal advocacy and movement building to support indigenous peoples to defend their rights to land, life and cultural survival in the Amazon Rainforest.
The lyrics of the song were inspired when Derrick Green came across the Instagram page of Amazon Frontlines: “The images of the fight and struggle of various Indigenous tribes, whose existence is under threat as they defend one of world’s most biodiverse ecosystems, were very touching and upsetting. Not only are Indigenous peoples being murdered but their rainforest territories are being burned and polluted at an alarming rate. The movement is inspirational and I felt that their voices needed to be heard loudly.”
“We appreciate SEPULTURA not only because they’re one of the greatest metal bands of all time, but because they are using their platform to shine a light on deforestation and the struggles of Indigenous peoples,” said Amazon Frontlines’ Executive Director, Mitch Anderson. “By sharing these stories with the world through their music, SEPULTURA is doing their part to support Indigenous communities, the ‘Guardians of Earth’, as they lead the fight to protect the Amazon Rainforest and the planet.”
ACCEPT ARE BACK! The German kingpins of Heavy Metal have released The Undertaker, the first single from their highly anticipated new studio album Too Mean To Die. The album will be released on January 15th, 2021 via Nuclear Blast. The pre-sale for ACCEPT’s 16th studio album will launch on November 6th, 2020.
The video was filmed in an abandoned castle in Poland and at an old cemetery in Nashville, TN. The mid-tempo number will captivate fans with its mesmerizing build and stirring vocals. Sing-a-longs are guaranteed, and the track is sure to deliver some future memorable live moments! According to ACCEPT mastermind Wolf Hoffmann, The Undertaker is one of the most catchy and pleasing pieces on the new album.
No rest for one of Britain’s most melancholic exports: Just half a year after MY DYING BRIDE returned from their break with their haunting and successful (German Album Charts #12) masterpiece The Ghost Of Orion, the kindred of Yorkshire raise the curtains to the Macabre Cabaret – their new MLP that will be released on November 20th via Nuclear Blast.
The band shares a first single and a lyric video for A Secret Kiss. The new EP of the band offers three new songs (plus a hidden gem on the physical editions) – dark luscious Death Doom ear candies that will dive their victim into a sensual world of darkness and temptation and conceal the borders between sweet pain and destructive illusion.
Singer Aaron Stainthorpe states:
“’Macabre Cabaret’ delves into the shadow empire of dark love and the consequences of unchecked sexuality. The deep passion of physical desire and its all-conquering rage over pure love is written bleakly here. A destructive essence within the soul can’t help but rear its ugly head.
‘A Secret Kiss’ is the final and lasting mark on the soul any human will feel when the lights have dulled and nothing meaningful remains for them. All religion features a shadow creature who arrives at the point of extinction and the release of the human soul, to either guide them to majesty or allow them do fall eternally into the ether.
‘A Purse of Gold and Stars’ is where we keep our hopes and desires and affection, perhaps in a dreamlike state, unattainable yet we still reach out for them. The trinkets and shiny baubles we call happiness and love are what we try so hard to keep close and protect. But it is never quite like that in real life and is often a struggle tainted with sadness but still, we hold the purse close and in tight cold hands.”
Bay Area thrash giants DEATH ANGEL have surprised fans today with a remarkably unique rendition of rock legends QUEEN & DAVID BOWIE’s iconic song Under Pressure, that’s featured on an unannounced digital EP of the same title out now on Nuclear Blast. The Under Pressure EP also includes a brand new original song, Faded Remains, and two newly recorded acoustic versions of A Room With A View and Revelation Song.
Vocalist Mark Osegueda comments on the song: “The “Under Pressure” EP is something I feel that we needed to release during these very frustrating times…These are very heavy times…And although it’s an all acoustic EP, It’s heavy in a different sense of the word. And music is how we express ourselves best! These times will eventually pass and we shall all regroup and once again celebrate the other side of HEAVY that is the foundation of our truly fantastic Metal scene! Until then…Stay safe, healthy, and happy! I hope you enjoy!!”
Guitarist Rob Cavestany adds: “What started out as simply expressing emotion through music as a cathartic reaction to the madness engulfing our world has turned into our first EP. Pure, raw and spontaneous, it’s also our first all acoustic release. Hoping this offering finds you well and brings warmth to your heart and soul. Together we shall overcome! Thank you for listening.”
KILLER BE KILLED, Max Cavalera (Soulfly/ex-Sepultura), Ben Koller (Converge/Mutoid Man), Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan/The Black Queen) and Troy Sanders (Mastodon/Gone Is Gone), debut a second single from the band’s forthcoming album, Reluctant Hero (Nov. 20, Nuclear Blast Records), unveiling a fiery live performance video for Dream Gone Bad.
Troy said of the song: “Dissecting the idea of uncertainty and how you pull from that to find your way. ‘Dream Gone Bad’ was initially spearheaded by Max and I, and as I listen back, through the collaborative process this creation’s final form has now become a dream-come-true.”
Dutch Symphonic Metal Giants EPICA proudly announce the release of their new album Omega, out on February 26th 2021 via Nuclear Blast. Omega, is the band’s first studio album in five years. EPICA have also released the first single from the album, titled Abyss Of Time, with an amazing accompanying video that was made in collaboration with Grupa 13.
Simone Simons comments: “Finally we can show you the video for our newest single ‘Abyss Of Time’! We flew all the way to Poland to work with Grupa 13 for the first time. Shooting videos is one of my favourite parts of creating the visual side to our music. The costumes were insanely beautiful. It was so much fun and I hope that you like the video”.
The Hard Rock powerhouse PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS from Wales have released a music video for their brand-new single We’re The Bastards from the upcoming new album We’re The Bastards, which will be released on November, 13th via Nuclear Blast.
Singer Neil Starr on the new album:
“It’s definitely great to know that we have an audience now. We know there are people that want to hear it, but the truth is that we just had fun with it. Once again, we made the record we wanted to make and it’s been really exciting. It was awesome to take our minds off everything and just concentrate on recording a kick ass album for the fans to enjoy”.
