New Singles On Nuclear Blast

Check out these new single releases on Nuclear Blast…

New Norwegian blackened Viking heavy metal band HJELVIK have released the music video for their first single North Tsar from the upcoming album Welcome to Hel, which will be released on November 20th 2020 via Nuclear Blast.

HJELVIK is the new solo band of ex-KVELERTAK frontman, lyricist and co-founder Erlend Hjelvik. After touring worldwide with some of the world’s greatest bands like METALLICA, SLAYER and GHOST and earning four Norwegian Spelleman awards, Erlend parted ways with his bandmates in 2018 and has spent the last two years songwriting and creating HJELVIK’s first solo album.

Frontman Erlend Hjelvik comments: “It feels great to finally give people the first taste of what’s to come with this awesome video for “North Tsar” that the talented guys at Grupa13 created for me!”

Erlend adds: “It was a cool experience, the day corona-restrictions lifted, I took the first flight from Norway to Poland and we shot the whole video in one day in a Viking village called Jomsborg. Grupa13 did an excellent job with their team including well-trained Viking reenactors, an amazing SFX crew and even brought in wolves and a huge raven. It was an intense and efficient shoot. It felt crazy to be standing in the middle of a Viking battle while performing my song, especially since the village was open to tourists who appeared midway through to stand there, gawk and take selfie’s…making the experience slightly more bizarre! Nonetheless, I had a great time and I’m extremely pleased with the result!”

Legendary Death Metal Pioneers BENEDICTION from Birmingham, UK have released their second single Stormcrow.

“In many cultures, the crow is seen as a harbinger of doom and a bad omen – this song deals with that“, Dave Ingram comments.

The video was shot on abandoned wasteland somewhere in the outskirts of Sheffield, in the North of England. Directed by Dan Hart / Light Engine Films.

Darren Brookes says: “‘Stormcrow’ was a particularly difficult but enjoyable video to shoot. As anyone who’s done one will know, it’s take after take after take, and as you can see it was a blisteringly hot day too. We did have passers-by, joggers, dog walkers and they were stopping to check out what was going on and that’s the closest we’ve managed to a live gig this year!

ACCEPT are back! The German kingpins of heavy metal will release new single The Undertaker on October 2nd 2020 via Nuclear Blast, accompanied by a brilliant video. The track is the first insight into their new studio album. More details will be revealed on this in due course.

The single will be a 2-track featuring a previously unreleased live version of Life´s A Bitch recorded in Oulu, Finland in 2019. It will be released digitally as well as via limited edition 7“ Vinyl in three colours, each limited to 300 copies. Colours are gold, white-marbled for Europe and red for the US.

The Undertaker is a catchy mid-tempo number with an eerie build that seeps into your skull, accompanied by stirring vocals from front man Mark Tornillo. According to Wolf Hoffmann, the piece is one of the most notable and brilliant pieces on the upcoming album. The track is sure to deliver some memorable live moments!

PALLBEARER have released The Quicksand of Existing, a third single from the band’s forthcoming album Forgotten Days (Oct. 23 via Nuclear Blast). The song arrives with another Ben Meredith directed video.

“As we strive to be, the forces of entropy perpetually pull us down into a state of being unmade,” offers bass player/songwriter Joseph D. Rowland of the track which reflects the narrative themes behind the highly-anticipated release, self-described by the band as a reflection on family and loss. “The body degrades; the mind and memories fray into unwoven threads, no longer connected to the rich fabric of the self. Choices made upon our separate and conjoined paths may find us engulfed in a mire of our unmaking. I wanted this song to face this reality with a grim determination.”

English metal legends CARCASS are back with their first collection of new music in 7 years, Despicable, coming October 30th via Nuclear Blast. The band has released a new song titled The Long And Winding Bier Road.

Commenting on the song, founding vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker states:
“The gift that keeps on giving, if you want it or not. Please try not to stare this gift horse too hard in the mouth….another song from the forthcoming EP taken from the new album recording session…..don’t worry there are still unreleased songs with even dafter titles!”

AMARANTHE Release Third Single Archangel + Deliver a Devilish Music Video Straight Outta Hell. All dreams are shattered, all hopes are lost – but out of the fuming ashes of apocalypse, there’s a new star rising high into the blackened sky: AMARANTHE have released Archangel, the third single from their upcoming album Manifest, to be out October 2nd, via Nuclear Blast. A merciless but on point modern metal extravaganza coming with brutal riffs, a tempting chorus and hellish vibes – long story short: An infernal pleasure that makes you want to trade your soul for the fallen angel.

AMARANTHE commented: “Fire and brimstone! Savour the sweet scent of sulphur as AMARANTHE delves deep into Miltonian lore with ‘Archangel’! An ancient tale of the fall of the angel Lucifer Morningstar was interpreted as a Greek tragedy in John Milton’s seminal ‘Paradise Lost’, and it is from this perspective we tell a brief yet momentous story of greed, betrayal and overblown pride – an all too familiar and contemporary theme. AMARANTHE’s first collaboration with Poland’s visual grandmasters Grupa13 took us from abandoned and ghastly factory halls in Wrocław to the derelict ruins of Świny Castle among the Polish mountains. Light up your incense, fill your goblet and delight in a darker shade of AMARANTHE!”

Feel the power of the mighty coven! Swiss Heavy Metal band BURNING WITCHES has released a music video for their brand-new single Circle of Five. The ladies conquered the studio and recorded this new masterpiece accompanied by their new lead guitarist Larissa, who joined them a few weeks ago.

This way we can go through good and bad times together! Larissa shows you here why she is the perfect person to play lead axe for us – please give her a warm welcome, she deserves the very best! And now enjoy this new riff-monster ‘Circle of Five’!“
