Hockey Dad Launch “Brain Candy” Breakfast Cereal
After announcing two apocalyptic, zombie-themed Alive At The Drive-In concerts on July 31 and August 1 to launch their highly anticipated new album Brain Candy, Hockey Dad have today revealed that they have created their own Brain Candy breakfast cereal and will be delivering it to select fans in NSW via contactless delivery.
“We believe all Australians are entitled to an imbalanced breakfast made with 97% whole-brains and we intend on making sure they get it”, said Billy Fleming of Hockey Dad.
Pre-orders for the Hockey Dad breakfast bundle are live at hockeydadbraincandy.com and are available in strictly limited quantities. For some lucky fans located in Wollongong, Sydney and Newcastle (or any cities or towns in between), Hockey Dad will select up to 50 households and deliver their Brain Candy directly to them during release week. The more you order from their store the better your chances of a safe, contactless delivery from the band. Brain Candy will be shipped globally for those outside of the delivery zone.
“The Brain Candy brekky bundle is actually a copy of our new album and a whole bunch of exclusive Hockey Dad merch packaged in a collectable breakfast cereal box”, said Zach Stephenson before clarifying, “there is some actual edible Brain Candy in there, and who are we to say you shouldn’t tip the lollies into a cereal bowl and pour some milk over it?”.
“Big corporations have been feeding kids sugar for breakfast for years, why stop now?”, concludes Billy Fleming.
For those who cannot attend the drive-in shows nor receive cereal deliveries from the band, Hockey Dad will also be live streaming the first Alive At The Drive-In show exclusively on YouTube on album release day, July 31. Fans from all over the world will be able to tune in online from 8.15pm AEST to witness the ghoulish display from the comfort of their homes.
Hockey Dad’s upcoming album Brain Candy will be released on July 31 via BMG/Farmer & The Owl. The album was produced by John Goodmanson (Death Cab, Sleater-Kinney, Wolf Parade) and features the singles I Missed Out, Itch, In This State and Good Eye.
Hockey Dad have also announced their new 2021 Brain Candy tour dates having had to reschedule the dates due to the ongoing COVID-19 – tickets on sale now.
