Legendary rock band Jefferson Starship (featuring David Freiberg, Donny Baldwin, Cathy Richardson, Chris Smith, and Jude Gold) has announced the release of their new EP, Mother of the Sun, their first collection of new songs in 12 years.

Mother of the Sun will be released via Golden Robot Records will hit stores and streaming platforms on August 21. The seven tracks include two songs co-written by original Jefferson Starship/Jefferson Airplane members — It’s About Time co-written with Grace Slick and another co-written with Marty Balin. The collection also features the return of original Jefferson Starship member Pete Sears, who plays bass on three tracks.

“Paul Kantner was our bandleader and the visionary who kept Jefferson Starship going through so many eras,” says Richardson. “He inspired so much about this record, from the messages in the lyrics to the title and album art to the collaborative process of creating music as a band with some of his original muses – Grace, Marty, and Pete. Mother of the Sun is dedicated to PK.”

While Jefferson Starship’s current members have been touring incessantly (including playing five continents with Kantner before his passing in 2016), Kantner’s final “crew” has mostly been riding out the pandemic in their homes. That hasn’t stopped them from planning a massive 2021 tour to support Mother of the Sun, though, as new dates will be announced this fall.

HOOKERS & BLOW, the now legendary project formed by longtime Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed and Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi, recently hit the studio to record a covers album that will be released later this year via Golden Robot Records.

Now the band have now dropped their third single, an emotive version of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust that truly and respectfully holds a candle up to the original.

Guitarist Alex Grossi comments, “’Ziggy Stardust’ has been in the Hookers & Blow live set since our very first show 17 years ago. We are really happy that we were able to capture the vibe of the way we do it live in the studio.”

Do you ever wonder what would happen if Led Zeppelin went home with the Baby Animals and Aretha Franklin after a wine mixer? That beautiful night would surely bring into existence a delicious love child named ZENITH MOON.

Hailing from Melbourne, ZENITH MOON bring a retro and classic rock fusion that draws in the best influences from that glory era, delivering raunchy female fronted rock that harks the sound of European counterparts Blues Pills, Pristine and Forever Still.

ZENITH MOON’s latest single Gypsy continues the band’s history of producing smooth, soulful indie rock. A perfect blend of charming vocal melodies and raw, energetic performances, Gypsy captures ZENITH MOON’s artistic range through emotional intensity and skilful musicianship.

Their previous single, Going Under is a groove laden, heavy riff-soaked tune topped by one hell of a vocal performance by vocalist Kahli.

MICHAEL DES BARRES needs no introduction. From Movies such as To Sir With Love and playing Murdocon Macgyer to fronting THE POWER STATION at Live Aid and bands such as SILVERHEAD, CHEQUERED PAST and DETECTIVE; his career is littered with highlights.

honeychain are a power trio from Los Angeles. A mix of alternative rock, high-energy power pop-punk, and a bit of garage-rock swagger. They release their second album, Pocket Full Of Good Luck via Die Laughing Records. Crushed, the band’s first full-length album, was produced by Kim Shattuck (The Muffs & The Pandoras).

Pocket Full Of Good Luck also features the track Late Night Movie Show which was co-written with the late Shattuck. honeychain is the sound of chaotic romance, in-your- face garage pop swagger and hypnotic heartbreak. The band recently released a lyric video for title track, Pocket Full Of Good Luck

Australian hardcore punk act THE OWEN GUNS recently released their first single & video F**k Cyclists on Riot Records (Part of the Golden Robot Global Entertainment Group).

Now THE OWEN GUNS are back with a new single It’s Too Late. It’s Too Late is a furious and frenzied 2-minute punk anthem and it delivers with a true 70’s punk attitude. THE OWEN GUNS are relentless, they exude the intensity of genuine punk rock and they are not going to let anyone forget about where the true roots of the genre came from.

Previous single F**k Cyclists is a short blast of punk rock born out of the frustration of frequently being stuck behind cyclists on narrow country roads. Straight to the point, it pulls no punches. THE OWEN GUNS would like to point out that they don’t condone acts of violence towards those Lycra clad irritants, no matter how tempting.
