The night’s free entertainment starts at 6pm with the first of the fireworks displays at 9.30pm at both Glenelg and Brighton beaches. At midnight, the night sky will be lit up again with a second fireworks display off Glenelg beach.
Australian rock band Regurgitator will join thousands of party-goers on Glenelg beach to celebrate the start of a new decade. For the first time, the stage will be set up on the sand, making for a true beach party.
The Brisbane band, which racked up a series of hits and ARIA awards in the 1990s, will headline the entertainment line-up for the Glenelg New Year’s Eve party. The band toured nationally this year as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations and will return to Adelaide for New Year’s Eve at the Bay. They’ll be joined by DJ Jaki J, Adelaide’s hottest party band Mr Buzzy and kids’ entertainers the Boomstars.
As we look forward to the New Year’s Eve celebrations and the start of a new decade, our thoughts go to the South Australian communities impacted by the recent bushfires. We will be promoting the Vinnies SA Bushfire Appeal at New Year’s Eve at the Bay, encouraging people to make a donation to support those affected by the bushfires.
