Phil Stack Winter Solo Tour

As a double-bassist, Phil Stack is one of the country’s best known jazz musicians, as well as an extremely well respected writer, producer and performer. Taking first place in the prestigious National Jazz Awards in 2008, he is a much in demand musician, touring the world many times over in everything from symphony orchestras to live and studio performances with the likes of James Morrison, Katie Noonan, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Tommy Emmanuel, Lior and many more. Phil is also a founding member of multi-platinum selling band Thirsty Merc.

Tonight sees Stack in solo mode, handling the vocal, piano and double bass duties to express his intimate, startlingly original set of songs. A world away from all of his other collaborations, his music can be dark, emotive, and uplifting all at once. Often referred to as inimitable, there seems to be a sense of vulnerability in his work that has never been fully realised until now.

Presently, Phil Is working on a follow up to his 2015 EP Lap Around The Sun and we are thrilled to be presenting Phil’s final show of his Winter Solo Tour which also happens to fall on the last day of winter, so it’s going to be a fabulous evening of live original music also featuring support by Adelaide local Kathie Renner Singer-Songwriter.

This is an ALL AGES SHOW minors must be accompanied by an adult and exit the venue by midnight.
